For Whirlpool Dishwasher Electronic Control Board (Part Number: OEM18056142)

Al for Model Number MDB4709AWW0

Hi, I have been told I need to replace the control board on my Maytag dishwasher. I have located the part on your website, but I am wondering if I will be able to install it myself (and save about $200 in quoted labor costs!)? I watched the technician take the control panel off, which looked easy. But, it was not clear how difficult it would be to replace the electronic control board. How difficult is it for me to install the control board? Thanks, Al

Hello Al. Just disconnect the power and remove the inner door liner. Then access the board and replace it. These are not hard to install into the units.

Hello Randy. Press heated dry, normal, heated dry, normal, heated dry normal and the unit should start. Let it run the cycle and finish. Then, always get the water hot at the sink before starting the dishwasher to prevent the error code.

Clinton, It sounds like the fault is in the key pad assembly W10810104 "PROBLEM: One or More Keys Won’t Respond - Open key or LED circuit(s) on the keypad, or open circuits on the control to the keys and LEDs. - Door switch not making contact: Faulty or sloppy door latch assembly (which can be aggravated by high door closure force). Faulty door switch (high resistance). Faulty control does not detect door closed." If you decide to circuit test the key pad circuits, you will need a multi meter TJMA-DM1 and you'll need to use the wiring diagram / tech data sheet, attached to the back side of the kickplate to test the circuits properly.

Hello Ted, This is from the tech sheet from your unit: Water Heating Problem Control is programmed to stop running and not allow any further cycles if it detects a water heating problem (no temperature increase detected in heated Main Wash on 3 consecutive cycles). Control blinks the Clean LED 7 times repeatedly and disables the Start/Resume key until cleared. Running diagnostics clears the control and allows it to operate again. The water heating problem must be fixed or the control will stop running again. 1. Check operation of heater in Diagnostics cycle. 2. Unplug dishwasher or disconnect power. 3. Check resistance of heater and all components and connections in the water heating circuit or heat dry circuit. The testing procedures are in the tech sheet also. It should be in a plastic bag behind the kick panel. If you cannot find yours, you need to re-post with an e-mail address so we can send a copy to you.

Hi. Remove the lower panel and find the tech sheet behind it or in with the control board. Remove the inner door panel to retrieve it and put the unit into a diagnostic mode. It will bring up a code that allows you to diagnose the total circuit. Use a volt/ohm meter part # MA-DM1 to assist you in your diagnostics. Look down at the float stem to see if it has fallen off the float switch part # WP8268909. Sometimes the Standpipe (side cover) part # WPW10175383 will come loose and the float lever part # WP8268892 slides off to one side not allowing the water fill. Thank You.
