Roger March 21, 2012 for Model Number HYE2460AYW Hi. Roger again, I ready replaced the swicth. I take the switch in my hand and press and then turn the dryer w/the door open. I see the heat element turn on but when I close the door turn off what you think is the problen? Maybe the safety thermostat or hi-limit thermostat or control thermostat ? Thank You.
1 Answer HI Roger. Not sure of the original Issue. If the dryer is not running and the heater is on with the door open/doors switch presses in with the timer on i a heat mode, then your motor centrifugal switch is bad as it is stuck closed and allowing the heater voltage undesired. You really need to un plug the unit and replace the motor part # W10410996. This is caused by the total vent system is clogged and kinked. Peek at the vent with the unit in the normal position. You only need enough vent to pull the unit out and it still be hooked up. Replace it with rigid flex metal vent and clean the outside vent cap/hood 4-5x per/yr.. It needs to open and close normally as the cap is free. Clean all the lint and make sure the vent system is not sagging and is on a decline -horizontal run towards outside. Thank You. Read More...

Chris January 16, 2012 for Model Number ADE7000AYW There seems to be an electrical burn smell coming from the dryer. I opened it up and vacuumed out as much lint as I could. I examined the element and appears to have a couple of black spots but isn't too bad. I can see the element heating up and the dryer runs. There still seems to be a slight burning smell. Do you think the element is bad?
1 Answer Hi Chris. If you still smell the burn then it is because, # 1- the element has overheated for too long and is lazy under heat conditions (expansion). It is part # LA-1044. Then # 2- the vent system is clogged and is backing up. Clean all of it and get the outside vent cap to open and close properly so it will breath properly and not take as long to dry the clothes. There are still 15,000 dryer fires/yr.and this can become a issue if left without repair. Thank You. Read More...

Gary September 15, 2011 for Model Number ade7000ayw There is no heat coming from my dryer to dry clothes. What is the problem? Should I replace the heating coil or element?
1 Answer Hello Gary. Check and make sure you have 240 volts coming to the dryer. Check and make sure the unit is not set to Air Fluff. Also check the heater LA-1044 and thermal fuses WP53-1182 and see if they are good. You can test these with a multi-meter MA-DM1. They should read closed for continuity. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
