Chris for Model Number ADE7000AYW There seems to be an electrical burn smell coming from the dryer. I opened it up and vacuumed out as much lint as I could. I examined the element and appears to have a couple of black spots but isn't too bad. I can see the element heating up and the dryer runs. There still seems to be a slight burning smell. Do you think the element is bad?
Answer Hi Chris. If you still smell the burn then it is because, # 1- the element has overheated for too long and is lazy under heat conditions (expansion). It is part # LA-1044. Then # 2- the vent system is clogged and is backing up. Clean all of it and get the outside vent cap to open and close properly so it will breath properly and not take as long to dry the clothes. There are still 15,000 dryer fires/yr.and this can become a issue if left without repair. Thank You. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Saturday, January 21, 2012
