Barry August 25, 2013 for Model Number KGCP462 KitchenAid 36" cooktop I purchased replacement ignitor and installed it - different electrical connector from original - but it still does not work. Replaced the spark module as well. Still does not not - tried an additional ignitor that I purchased and that one does not work either - any suggestions?
1 Answer Hello Barry, You can check the start switch assembly 8284816 with an ohm meter. It is what turns the spark module on and is common to fail from spills. Read More...
Donna September 10, 2012 for Model Number KGCC766RSS01 What type of tool do I need to use to unscrew the screw that holds the part to the ignitor? I have everything apart and the wire off of the bottom of the ignitor part, but the screw that needs to be unscrewed is in a very difficult position. I think I will need the perfect tool. Can you tell me what that would be. Thank you!
1 Answer Donna, The electrode mounting screw WP4449809 is a Phillips Head screw. It will require a #1 or #2 Phillips screwdriver to remove it. Thanks Read More...

Steve Moore February 20, 2012 for Model Number GW395LEGQ6 Rear left (facing stove) and front right burners "click" when knob is turned to lite position. They lite ok. However, front left and rear right burners do not "click" when knob is turned to lite position. These burners will lite but one of the other burners must be turned to the lite position. That is, two burners must be turned on at the same time. Are the igniters the problem?
1 Answer Hello Steve. You will need to check and see if the spark switches WP9755451 are bad on the unit. If so, they will cause the problem you are having. If they are good and close when turned on, you will need to replace the spark module WPW10110491 on the unit. Hope this helps. Read More...
Jenny February 11, 2012 for Model Number KitchenAid KGCK366VS00 When I install the Surface burner Igniter (KitchenAid KGCK366VS00), do I need to remove the burner base? If so, how do I do it? I unscrewed the two screws on the base, but the base still does not come off.
1 Answer Hello Jenny. You will need to remove the burner WPW10406243. Once the two screws are removed from the burner, it should lift off the unit. If it is stuck, you will need to try and move it back and forth and then lift it off the unit. Hope this helps. Read More...
