Agi January 25, 2015 I have found particles (black to dark gray) in my ice coming out of the freezer. Most of the particles seem to be embedded in the ice. i replaced the filter, and have had a few particles since although none in a few days. Could this be a malfunction of the filter? Whirlpool says to replace the supply line?
1 Answer AGI, A couple of things to check, Remove or use a mirror to check the ice mold of the ice maker. Sometimes the coating on the mold deteriorates and flakes off into the cubes. Check the water reservoir tank, behind the crisper drawers see if there is any debris or sediment developing in the tank. Make sure you change the filter according to the manufacturers recommendations. Read More...
Shirlene January 14, 2015 I had a water heater replaced and the guy had to turn the main water supply off but when he finished and turned the water back on, my filter to my refrigerator literally broke out and water was going everywhere. Is that caused by air being built up because the the water was off and it was too much pressure?
1 Answer Hello Shirlene, The pressure would have to be what caused it to burst. All I can figure is that since air can be compressed and liquid cannot, the water pressure rushing in had to have built up excessive pressure from the airs' compression. I would have the water pressure regulator to the home checked by the utility board or your plumber. This isn't something that you hear about happening unless there was a weak place in the filter that would have burst anyway or excessive pressure is present in the water supply. Read More...
Dorothy December 31, 2014 for Model Number refridgerator filter 4396841 How does a new filter model #4396841 look like out from the box? I bought them from another supplier but they look like they have been used. The box was damaged, there was no installation instruction or reminder sticker set inside the box. Plus, the filter port is blue in color and loose. And, the filter has white powder all over the outside of the filter itself. How do I know if the filter is defective/damaged? I am thinking of returning it and buying new ones with you. Thanks - Dorothy Newberry
1 Answer Dorothy, As far as the sticker, we do not have information on reminder sticker coming with the part but for the ports, there should be 2 ports and are molded pieces that would not move around. Read More...
Kris December 31, 2014 for Model Number KSRL25FRST04 I would like to bypass the water filter replacement needs on my KitchenAid refrigerator. We have a whole house filtration system and therefore do not need to filter the water going through the refrigerator. Is there a bypass option of this refrigerator model? Thank you for your help!!!
1 Answer Hello Kris. They do not list one for this model number. Try removing the filter and see if water still dispenser without the filter. If so, just leave out the old filter and it is bypassed. Read More...
Eji December 09, 2014 for Model Number maytag msf25cexwoo Water filter Eject button is not responding. Tried holding it in. tried pushing it in with a wooden spoon as someone suggested. tried to push the buttona nd run the water dispenser but not possible on mine. Can get old filter out because the eject is not working
1 Answer Eji, You will want to try to push the filter in and make sure that it is completely seated. If not then this may be the reason that it is not responding. If it still will not work then you will need to replace the filter housing for your refrigerator. Read More...
Eva November 05, 2014 for Model Number KitchenAid Side by Side uses the push buttom filter The last time we changed the push button Whirlpool Filter, when removing the old filter, water gushed all over the floor, quite a bit of it. This is before we had a chance to put in the new filter. This has never happened before. We had quite a mess of water to clean up on the floor. We then pushed in the new filter. It did not make the usual click and when dispensing water, it did not sound like the usual water coming out with air pockets. But the water does taste fine. The problem is why did the water gush out when removing the old filter??
1 Answer Eva, The reason for the filter housing to spray water when filter is taken out would be a bad filter housing. This would require the housing to be replaced which is part number WPW10121138. Read More...
Valerie October 31, 2014 for Model Number WRS965CIAM00 Replaced the water filter - but the sensor on the door still tells me to replace it ??
1 Answer Valerie, You did reset the control board ? " After changing the water filter, reset the status light. Press the OPTIONS button to enter Options mode, then press LOCK to initiate the reset, then press MEASURED FILL to confirm that you want to reset the status light. When the system is reset, the “ORDER” and “REPLACE” icons will disappear from the display screen." If you have reset the control board, then we'll need to check the dispenser control board and or the fill valve. Read More...
Bluebirdi October 21, 2014 for Model Number 106.58966701 Is this Kenmore refrigerator a "fast fill" refrigerator?
Perezbros September 28, 2014 for Model Number FD51HAXWB02 We just replaced the filter on the bottom grille, everything went good, the button pushed back out, we heard the swishing sound etc. we waited until morning to check it, and still no ice?? we repeated the steps to replacing it and still no Ice??
1 Answer Perezbros, You will want to pull the icemaker out and check to see if the fill tube is frozen. If frozen clear out any ice that is in the tube and see if it starts working, can take up to a couple of hours to run and make ice. If this is does not correct then check the icemaker module to make sure that the pins in the large wheel are not broken and that there are no burn marks on the back of it. Read More...
