Carolyn May 28, 2014 for Model Number KUIS155HBL1 Will a broken wire on the grid cutter cause the machine not to cut the sheet of ice?
Luther W April 18, 2013 for Model Number Kitchenaid KUIS18NNJW4 Kitchenaid KUIS18NNJW4 Unit makes ice sheet which continues to build up and fails to slide on to wire cutting grid. It continues to build ice till with more ice sheet thickness. The flow of circulating water is blocked causing it to spill over and out of the water reservoir letting the recirculating pump run dry. What triggers the ice sheet to slide on to the cutting grid?? Any help for this problem??
1 Answer Luther, There is a thermistor that is located on the bottom of the evaporator that senses the thickness of ice and should allow the ice to drop down to the cutter grid. You will want to check this sensor to make sure that it is not bad. You should also run a clean cycle to make sure that there is not mineral build up on the evaporator. Read More...

Charlie March 01, 2012 for Model Number ZDII5CBBN Water reservoir will not refill after one cycle. One wire appears to be broken on grid. Will a broken wire cause the refill cycle to stop? Makes a slab of ice but will not cut into cubes.
1 Answer Hello Charlie. If the unit fills, freezes, and drops the ice in the first cycle, but does not refill or cut the ice, you may have 2 issues. The first is the float located in the pump WP2217220 and then the heater cutter 4387020. Test for power to the water valve from the control board on refill if the float is working in the pump. If there is no power, replace the control board WP2304016. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
D J Walker December 10, 2011 for Model Number KUIS15NRTSO Is Cutter grid for Whirlpool the same for Kitchen Aide Model listed?
Michael June 17, 2011 for Model Number kuis15prhb7 Machine is not making alot of ice. Water is circulating and the ice sheet seems to be freezing well enough. The ice is sitting on the cutter long enough to melt a little before falling into bin. Need a suggestion on which part needs replacing.
1 Answer Hello Michael. You will need to test the grid cutter WP2313637 and see if it is bad. It should read closed for continuity. If it is good, you may have a bad transformer WP2185657. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter.
