This cutter grid assembly uses heated wires to slice the ice slab into uniform cubes during harvest in clear ice machines. Replacing a damaged grid restores proper cube separation and helps prevent jams caused by uncut ice sheets. What it does:

  • Heats and cuts the ice slab into individual cubes as it passes through the grid
  • A failed or broken grid can leave the ice sheet uncut or in large fused blocks
  • Visible signs can include broken/burned wires or cubes sticking together
What's included:
  • One cutter grid assembly
Install notes:
  • Disconnect power and shut off water before servicing; allow the grid to cool
  • Handle by the frame—do not touch or bend the heating wires
  • Install in the same orientation; transfer existing mounting hardware if required
  • Reconnect the harness securely and route wires away from moving parts

Luther, There is a thermistor that is located on the bottom of the evaporator that senses the thickness of ice and should allow the ice to drop down to the cutter grid. You will want to check this sensor to make sure that it is not bad. You should also run a clean cycle to make sure that there is not mineral build up on the evaporator.

Hello Charlie. If the unit fills, freezes, and drops the ice in the first cycle, but does not refill or cut the ice, you may have 2 issues. The first is the float located in the pump WP2217220 and then the heater cutter 4387020. Test for power to the water valve from the control board on refill if the float is working in the pump. If there is no power, replace the control board WP2304016. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html
