J.Z. January 26, 2014 for Model Number Kenmore Elite Dishwasher My heating element stopped working and the replacement part that was recommended was the kit 8194200. I installed the heating element and the circuit board but the power never reached the controls. I replaced the old board and it seems to work fine. Is there any issue in using the old circuit board with the new heating element?
1 Answer Hello J.Z., Since we are not the manufacturer, we are not able to advise about possible issues such as this. This question should be directed to the manufacturer. Read More...
Gary December 29, 2013 for Model Number kudio2irbl1 The end of the heating element at the plug has burned off, will this cause the diswasher to fault and turn off?
1 Answer Gary, Yes a faulty heater element WPW10082892 can cause this dishwasher to fault and turn off. It usually displays a blinking LED above the "clean" setting on the control panel. The LED usually blinks seven(7)times and pauses for a second then repeats the pattern until the dishwasher is turned off or repaired. Read More...
Gary November 18, 2013 for Model Number Kitchen Aid KUDM01TJBL0, Serial FL2218597, Type 577-0 My heating element is burned out. It is "horseshoe" shaped just like part no. AP5690151, which is specified on your site as for plastic tubs only. My tub is stainless. The part image for AP3841139, which comes up when I search by model no., is not what mine looks like and comes with a replacement circuit board. Why is it a different shape? Why is a circuit board replacement needed for a stainless tub and not a plastic tub? Will AP3841139 fit into the two heating element positioning brackets that are mounted on the inside bottom of the tub? And finally, do you have a video that shows the replacement of the circuit board? I wasn't expecting to purchase or replace that. Thank you.
1 Answer Hello Gary. Per the manufacturer, you need part number 8194200 and the board must be replaced with the new element. They do not provide the reason. Read More...
Kelly October 06, 2013 for Model Number Kudp01flbl1 When my dishwasher runs there is only cold water when I test the water inside the dishwasher during the wash cycle. Do you think I need to replace the heating element to fix the problem? Thanks
1 Answer Kelly, You will first want to verify that the unit is connected to a hot water source. Also make sure that you are purging your water line at the sink before running the dishwasher. The dishwasher can only boost the temp 1 degree every 4 minutes so if the water supply is coming in cold then this will cause an issue. If the water supply checks ok then you will want to check to make sure that the heater is operational. This can be done during a dry cycle on heated dry by checking for power to the heater and then checking to make sure that the heater is working. If there is power to the heater but the heater does not come on then the heater would be the issue and need to be replaced. Read More...

Dar August 11, 2013 for Model Number KUDS01IJBL0 Hi....My clean light on my dishwasher panel was blinking & on my inspecting I found out that one of the terminals on my heating element had been leaking. This caused the terminal to rust and eventually burnt the terminal wire & the plastic nut. Would this have caused any other damage like a blown fuse etc. or will I only have to replace the heating element & control (8194200)?
1 Answer Dar, While it is possible that it could have caused another part failure. In most cases it would just be the heating element that would need to be replaced and the terminal at the end of the wire. Read More...
Sw May 21, 2013 for Model Number KUDS01ILWH0 The dishes do not dry currently, top or bottom rack. Would you think that it may be a burnt out heating element? Could you recommend a diagnostic check I could do before I order these parts?
1 Answer Hello SW. Test the element, it should read closed for continuity. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
