Bruce May 15, 2011 for Model Number 665.1746930 I recently purchased a heating element and board (AP3841139) for my dishwasher and installed it per the directions. It worked for one cycle and the thermal fuse blew. I purchased a new fuse and wiring harness from a local dealer ( p/n 8193762 ) which also blew upon the second cycle. I installed the thermal shield as directed and am at a loss. I also noticed that the wash delay feature (2/4/6 hr) now illuminates all lights on the display before the fuse blew. I would like to know what the amp rating is on this fuse and if there might be slightly higher unit available. In my opinion, the higher temp dry time cannot be handled by the stock fuse and the upgraded wiring harness. Have you encountered this problem elsewhere?
1 Answer Hello Bruce. When you replaced the fuse, did you cut and splice in the new wires sent with the new fuse? If not, this has to be done, or the unit will keep blowing the fuse 8193762. Hope this helps. Read More...
Bhanu May 14, 2011 for Model Number KUDM01TJBS0 I have a kitchenaid dishwashwer with steel tub. As part of replacing the heating element, is it necessary to replace the computer board as well? Will the heating element ship with replacement instructions ?
1 Answer Hello Bhanu! When replacing the heater, you will need to replace the board as well. The kit for your model is part number 8194200. It does not seem that the parts come with instructions, however, should install the same way. The P4 connector was left off the board, per the manufacture, leave the wire hanging. Thanks. Bp February 25, 2011 I have a Kenmore Elite 665.17583200 we bought used a few months ago. The dishwasher recently stopped heating and I see a 2" burned/corroded spot on the heating element. I'm assuming that is the cause of the problem and it needs to be replaced. How likely is it to also need a fuse? If so, the link for the fuse part number provided to a previous questioner does not cross-reference to my Kenmore model. Can you tell me what fuse part number I need?
1 Answer Hello BP. Yes you will need to change the heating element. The fuse 8193762 listed on the Q&A's will work on your model. Hope this helps. Read More...
