Kimkats October 20, 2017 for Model Number Whirlpool Pratt 4317943 I replaced our old icemaker with this one, and while It makes ice, the cubes are about half sized. They are frozen solid. I have tried adjusting the fill time with the little white screw on the right side of the module, but it hasn't changed. When the unit goes to refill, you can hear that it isn't filling for anywhere near 7 seconds; more like 2 or 3. Do I need to replace the module on the unit? Is there something I can/should test first? Thanks
1 Answer Hello Kimkats, While it is not possible to tell if you have the correct icemaker with no model number from your refrigerators' I.D. tag, I can tell you that the icemaker should cycle the water valve on for 6 to 7 seconds. It is also necessary to have enough water pressure, (50 to 120 PSI), to properly fill the icemaker in the allotted time. There could also be an issue with the water valve not opening sufficiently. For a more detailed diagnosis and correct part numbers needed to repair the unit, please post a new question with the model number from the units' I.D. tag. Thank you for your patience and understanding in this matter. Read More...
Cathy September 20, 2017 for Model Number Sub-Zero BI-42S My ice maker is not automatically going through the cycles. It does fill and makes ice, but only after I physically slam drawer to trigger each cycle. The last time it did this also and we replaced the ice maker, the technician noted "Fault 3085." Do I truly have to replace the entire ice maker?
1 Answer Hello Cathy, This sounds more like an issue with the icemaker fan switch. The original part number was 3060130 but changed to a new number 7014651. I'm sorry but we do not have this part available since we do not have support information concerning the Sub Zero brand. Thank you for your patience and understanding in this matter. Read More...
Sturg62 July 28, 2017 I just replaced my ice maker module that I bought from appliancepartspro after ice maker stopped making ice. Unit is working well but now I have ice cubes that are not completely frozen and hollow. Ice cubes in bin are getting frozen together. Seems ice cubes in rear of unit not completely freezing, while one in front are. How can I get all cubes to freeze solid? Thanks. Dan
1 Answer Hello Sturg62. It sounds like you have a temp issue in the unit. It should be 0 to 5° for the unit to cycle and freezer the water properly. If to cold, it will cause the issue your having. Read More...
Doug June 08, 2017 for Model Number GD25FFCHB00 I replaced the Ice maker control module which I ordered through you, Part #: AP4359694 W10190935, due to the ice tray not filling with water. Prior to replacing the module if I cycled the maker by manually filling the tray and letting the water freeze, the ice maker process seemed to work fine. I thought I could hear the water valve operating to fill the tray however it does not fill. What else could be the problem?
1 Answer Doug, You will want to pull the icemaker out and check the fill tube to see if it is frozen. If frozen then clear out the ice from it and replace the water valve. Read More...
Mom May 30, 2017 for Model Number GB2SHBXTB00 My ice maker is making ice correctly but there is a drip from the unit and it is causing the ice in the bin to freeze into a large ice block.
1 Answer Hello Mom. If the icemaker is overfilling, replace the water valve. However, if the icemaker is leaking, just replace the icemaker. Read More...

Eddie April 28, 2017 for Model Number 10656536400 Hi I recently purchased and installed a new ice maker for a Kenmore Coldspot 10656536400 but have run into a new problem. There is water in the ice bucket and I think that it's due to water overflowing the ice tray. Is there a way to adjust/fix this? Hate to send the ice maker back for an exchange
1 Answer Hello Eddie. I have located a link on our free repair forum that will help adjust the water level. Hope it helps! http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/refrigerator-freezer-repair/173366-icemaker-overfills.html Read More...
Ted April 22, 2017 for Model Number ksrx25fnst01 Ice maker will not fill with Water. used ohm meter on water inlet valves. had reading of 400 ohms on both solenoids.does ice maker control valve regulate water flow, and how to test thanks
1 Answer Hello Ted. Make sure the freezer is between 0° and 5°. You need to check and see if there is power going to the water valve when the icemaker cycles. If so, replace the water valve on the unit. If not, or the icemaker does not cycle, you will need to replace the icemaker on the unit. Also, check and make sure the fill tube on the unit is not frozen and clogged. If so, replace the water valve and thaw out the fill tube. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Karin April 04, 2017 for Model Number 55242400 I ordered a new control module for my Kenmore ice-maker. I am currently using it but had to remove the small piece that the baler hooks into it, as I was unable to remove it, not matter how I turned and twisted it. The goods news is the module fixed the problem; the bad news is that now it won't stop making ice even if the baler is up. I think it's because the existing piece is not properly hooked into the control module. This is difficult to determine because you have to go by "feel." I think it would be a quick fix if I could disengage the baler and start fresh. How do I get the baler disconnected? I watched the video and it looked really easy. Mine seems like it's glued in, just won't budge. This would otherwise have been an easy job.
1 Answer Karin, You will want to pull the bale air off the fill cup first and then you will want to place your thumb at the front part of the bale are and push while wiggling the arm toward the back of the icemaker. Read More...
