Kimkats for Model Number Whirlpool Pratt 4317943

I replaced our old icemaker with this one, and while It makes ice, the cubes are about half sized. They are frozen solid. I have tried adjusting the fill time with the little white screw on the right side of the module, but it hasn't changed. When the unit goes to refill, you can hear that it isn't filling for anywhere near 7 seconds; more like 2 or 3. Do I need to replace the module on the unit? Is there something I can/should test first? Thanks

Answer

Hello Kimkats, While it is not possible to tell if you have the correct icemaker with no model number from your refrigerators' I.D. tag, I can tell you that the icemaker should cycle the water valve on for 6 to 7 seconds. It is also necessary to have enough water pressure, (50 to 120 PSI), to properly fill the icemaker in the allotted time. There could also be an issue with the water valve not opening sufficiently. For a more detailed diagnosis and correct part numbers needed to repair the unit, please post a new question with the model number from the units' I.D. tag. Thank you for your patience and understanding in this matter.
