The Icemaker Motor Module is an OEM part for Whirlpool refrigerators. This module is the heart of the icemaker, responsible for controlling the ice production cycle. It manages the timing, water fill, and ice tray ejection, ensuring that your refrigerator consistently produces and dispenses ice.

Symptoms of a bad Icemaker Motor Module include:

  • The icemaker failing to produce ice,
  • Ice cubes not ejecting into the bin,
  • The icemaker making unusual noises during operation.

Causes of motor module failure typically involve mechanical wear from continuous use, electrical failures such as short circuits, or water damage affecting the electronic components.

This OEM part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore models.

Questions & Answers

For Whirlpool Icemaker Motor Module (Part Number: OEM9532035)

Mark, are you sure you had the jumper wire properly inserted into the "T" and "H" openings ? The new module should have a resistance of 4000 ohms across the "L" and "M" openings on your meter, This will tell you if the motor is operable( it should be). Test "L" to "H" and there should be 72 ohms resistance if the mold heater is functional. Are you sure the bale arm shut off switch and arm linkage are in the proper position, so the ice maker is not in the "off" position. The mold thermostat should have an "open" circuit at room Temperature, and a "closed" circuit at 15 dgrs.F or lower. But when you jump "T" to "H" at the module, you "bypass" the thermostat and the module motor should run.

Hello Jason. If the icemaker is over filling, you will need to replace the water valve on the unit. If it is leaking, but not over filling, you will need to replace the icemaker on the unit.

Randy, You will want to check the motor module by pulling the icemaker out and seeing if there are any burn marks on the back of the module. You will also want to pull the front trim off of the dispenser assembly and look for burn marks on the control. Pull the ice dispenser motor and look for burnt wiring.

Hello James. If you look at the right side of the control module, you will see a small white screw. You turn the screw to adjust and change the cube size in the unit.

Tim, Slow water flow can cause the icemaker fill tube to freeze up. For this issue and the water coming out slowly you wll want to replace the water filter. Once filter changed you will also want to clear the fill tube. If it still freezes then you will need a new water valve.

Hello Don, The new icemakers do not come with this and you would use this cover in place of the regular cover. The Ice plus allows the fan inside the box to turn on to direct more air across the icemaker to allow it to freezer faster and make ice quicker.

Hello Robert, If the ice maker doesn't fill with ice you either have a bad water valve 242252702 or a bad ice maker assembly 5304458371. If the fill tube is frozen up the water valve is the cause and will require replacement.

Hello Lyle, It sounds like the motor coupling may be the problem. Try to turn the coupling without hitting the dispenser motor or try to hold with channel locks and hit the paddle for the motor to turn. If it turns freely either way then you will need a new coupling WPW10169511.
