Debbie February 11, 2017 for Model Number MBF1958XEW5 After a couple of years, the ice maker stopped making ice. The water line is connected and has no kinks. The bar that moves up and down to generate ice isn't moving, and there doesn't appear to be any ice in the mold, nor have I heard the water filling. A repair person "hot wired" it, and when he did, the bar moved and the water filled. Do we need to buy a whole new ice maker or is there a specific part we need? Thanks
Skip The Winter January 03, 2017 for Model Number GB9FHDXWQ04 While trying to remove the old icemaker I could not get the wire harness to unplug. I tried squeezing the tab on the side but I still could not get it out. Is it all right to pull hard and not destroy the harness that is attached to the refrigerator?
1 Answer Skip the winter, On the sides of the harness will be a clip that hooks on the refrigerator harness. You will want to use a small screwdriver and get them to unclip. If this is the front of the icemaker that is not coming loose then remove the cover and push the tab on the side to get it to come out. Read More...
Debra November 28, 2016 for Model Number MBL2258XES3 My ice maker has not been making ice. We pulled the unit out and the water line seems ok, no kinks or anything.
1 Answer Hello Debra, If the freezer is running between 0°F and 10°F you need to see if there is ice in the icemaker or if it is empty. If empty, make sure the fill tube is not frozen up and replace the water valve WPW10498976. If it has ice in it that has not harvested, replace the icemaker assembly W10884390. Read More...
Ron June 14, 2016 for Model Number W10469286 I have this ice maker in a whirlpool fridge model gb2fhdxwb06. Water suppy is awesome, unplugged and tested water solenoid it was 198.5 ohms. Jumped the icemaker but forgot to turn water on, the arms went around and stopped at the 1 o'clock position. If the water was on would have it filled when i jumped the ice maker? What else could i test? Any help would be awesome! Thank you in advance! RONNIE
1 Answer Ron, If the water were on then it should fill the icemaker. You will want to jump the icemaker again and test the water valve for 120 vac getting to it. If there is proper voltage but not putting water in then the issue will be the water valve. If there is no voltage then it would be the icemaker. Read More...

Ben Ray August 22, 2015 for Model Number mff2558veb8 Ice maker not working and from what I have read and seen on the your site the problem is most likely the cycling thermostat which it appears you have available at $25.09 but it also seems the entire assembly can be purchased from your site for just over $40. If I were to purchase the entire maker unit am I correct that the thermostat would be included? Is part AP5617584 correct for my model? I also read that it is necessary to use a jumper wire to trick the new maker into a harvest cycle? Is that the case and if so can you elaborate a bit on that step? Thank you.
1 Answer Ben, Yes the icemaker kit W10884390 will work for your model. As for jumping the icemaker out, pull the cover off the icemaker and put a insulated jumper wire with the ends stripped about a 1/4" into the terminals listed t and H. Make sure that the light switch is taped off so that it will cycle. Read More...
Bettie July 11, 2015 for Model Number W10469286 (this is the model number for the old ice maker) I see that you have an ice maker that looks like it will fit our vintage Whirlpool refrigerator, and I also see that I need to order the wiring harness. However, the ice maker part doesn't seem to have the wire on-off arm and I don't know how to find that part. Do you carry it?
1 Answer Hello Bettie, You would either need the WP627792 or the WP67004028, depending on the ice bin in the unit. In some cases you may need W11342242. I would recommend the one that looks like the one on the original icemaker or you can remove the old one and install it into the new icemaker assembly. A screwdriver will slip it out of the motor module with moderate force. Read More...
Dave July 04, 2015 for Model Number W10469286 This ice maker pictured for our GB2FHDXWS06 frig did not show a multi wire plug. Does it have the plug attached to fit ?
1 Answer Dave, The icemaker wire harness does not come with the icemaker. If the wire harness is good then you can reuse the original. If it is bad then you would need to order the harness part number WPW10458985. Read More...
Peter June 30, 2015 for Model Number gx2fhdxvy08 Installed the replacement ice maker which appears to work. As a matter of fact it won't stop making ice! As far as a I can tell the stopper switch is correctly installed but doesn't appear to pause the ice making. Any suggestions?
1 Answer Peter, On the back of the icemaker head there is a slot, the icemaker arm should be going into this slot. If it is but will not stop icemaker then the icemaker would be faulty and need replaced. Read More...
