Jennifer M. December 14, 2011 for Model Number KSB5WW4 The metal piece under the coupler is different than the one they show in the picture. It is tilted at an angle around the center and also has small holes around the outer edge. I bought the coupler that supposedly goes with it, but can't seem to get it on. The coupler lies flat the metal post does not. Have I got the wrong coupler or do I not know how to get the coupler to go on. Thank you for your help.

Jim December 06, 2011 for Model Number ksb5nk3 In watching the install video my blender doesn't look the same. While running the blades turn clockwise so I can't remove the coupler the way you show. In fact the coupler turns freely either direction..... there are indents on the shaft between the coupler and the motor housing. almost seems you need a wrench to hold the shaft to remove the coupler.
1 Answer Hi Jim. If the coupler is turning both ways freely, it must be stripped out on the motor shaft. So as the repair video shows you need to pry it off gently under the coupler on one side and then the other. This should allow the old one to enlarge enough to be lifted off the shaft. Then reinstall it in a counter clockwise manner so it will tighten. You can momentarily use the blender now to re-seat the coupler or when you use it next time it will be ok. Thank You. Read More...
