Questions & Answers

For Whirlpool Microcomputer (Part Number: OEM9533805)

1 Answer

John, On the back of the range there is a thermal cutoff WP9759243 which you will want to check to see if there is continuity to it. If no continuity then the thermal is faulty and would need to be replaced. If the thermal checks ok then the control board would be the issue. The part number for the control board is 8186024 but unfortunately has been discontinued by the manufacturer with no suitable replacement.

Anthony, Yes, based on the issue, this would most likely be caused by a faulty control board which will need to be replaced.

Hello Barbara. Make sure the thermal overload WP9759243 is good. If so, then the micro-computer 8186024 is bad. The Micro-computer has been permanently discontinued by the manufacturer and we don't know of any source or replacement for the part.

Ja for Model Number Whirlpool oven MODEL-RBS275PDB10

I have Whirlpool built-in oven mod rbs275pdb10. I turned the oven to bake @ 350 degrees. When I returned to the oven, it had switched to CLEAN mode. I hit cancel and after a while the oven door would open. Next time it tried to used the oven, there was no heat in the oven (neither bake or broil). I feel sure the thermal overload safety is blown, but am concerned about the unauthorized switch from bake to clean. Do I need a new electronic (microcomputer) component? You show that this part is no longer available. What options do I have?

Coopecd for Model Number RBS245PDQ12

I came home yesterday and my Whirlpool Oven Model# RBS245PDQ12 did not seem to have power and there was an burnt electrical smell. I removed the control panel and can seem two burn spots under two transitors on the Mirocomputer. The oven had not been in use and I don't believe there was a power outage. Should I; A: Replace the microcomputer. B: Replace the entire control panel. C: Look for other issues and do either A or B D: Replace the transitors?

Michael D for Model Number RBS305PDQ12

The oven will come on as soon as I hit the breaker and cannot shut it off. Only way to turn it off is to hit the breaker. Removed the 8186024 circuit board. I would like to know which relay has failed in the closed position ( or controls elements on and off) so I can change it. I have experience in soldering circuit boards and have the equipment to do it. There are 3 Porter Brumfield T77V1D3-24 relays to the left of the transformer and 2 RT334024F relays just above the transformer on the board. I have had multiple appliance breakdowns in a row and really need to fix this one as least costly as possible. THX Mike

Michael, Unfortunately we do not have access to the electronic control breakdown. The manufacturer does not make this information available. The only thing that we have access to is the tech sheet which would be in your unit.

Todd, Sounds like the control board has reset to the "Celsius" temperature mode, after the power failure : The default is Fahrenheit (° F). 1. Press the BROIL pad for 5 seconds. The temperature will be displayed in degrees Celsius indicated by the "C"” in the temperature display. 2. To return the display to degrees Fahrenheit press the BROIL pad again for 5 seconds. “F” will show in the temperature display.

Brian, To replace the control board you would pull the unit out and disconnect the power to the unit. Remove the rear cover of the control panel and take the screws holding the control board on out. Install new board and reassemble.

Carolyn Ross for Model Number rs696pxgq6

I have replaced the microcomputer,(ap3177932). and the control panel,(ap3176848). Both are brand new, but I'm still getting the e1 f2 fault code. It will come up and every button works. The oven will kick on and count down the time to preheat. (along with the fan.) Then it will shut off and display the e1 f2 fault again. I tried the old computer and it did not show the fault codes. But the fan immediately kicked on and the oven wont countdown the preheat. Please help me figure out what is going on with my oven. Thank you. Carolyn

Carolyn, You will need to check the insertion end of the keypad ribbon and make sure the end was not accidentally coverred with lubricant or plastic material on the production line. Check and make sure the ribbon is not creased or torn anywhere. Make sure the end of the ribbon is inserted into the microcomputer connector properly and tightly. " F2 E1 Keypad keytail not connected 1. Check keypad connector for firm connection.2. Press CANCEL. If error code returns after 60 sec., replace keypad.3. Replace control." After these checks, if the problem persists, re order a new control panel/keypad assembly. Thanks
