John November 13, 2013 for Model Number LG7081XSN1 I have an Whirlpool LG7081XSN1 that was converted to LP. I want to convert it back to Natural Gas. What parts would I need? Thanks
1 Answer John, There are several parts that will need to be changed to convert back to Nat gas: WP234826 orifice, WP694424 Limiter/cap, WP694423 regulator sleeve, and WP694422 spring. These parts are all associated with the brass cap fitting on the top of the gas valve and must be replaced in order to convert the valve back to Natural Gas and have the valve operate properly. Don't forget to check for possible gas leaks at the valve once the parts are installed and the gas supply is reestablished, you can use a solution of soapy water and a rag or old paint brush to swab the solution on the fittings. Mark October 30, 2013 for Model Number WFG510S0AS 0 This is a whirlpool gas oven. Was converted to LP after purchase. We now need to change it back to Natural Gas. The original natural gas orifices were discarded. I can get the orifices for the stovetop burners but not for the bake or broil. Whirlpool says there are no part numbers for these items in natural gas just for the LP orifices. I know the spud orifice for the bake is a #49 and the hood orifice for the broil is #53 but I don't have part numbers. I can find some generic orifices by google search, but don't know if thread size is correct. If you can help me with a part number or at least the thread size I need that would be great. Any help would really be appreciated. PS: Whirlpool said I would have to buy the complete valve assembly just to get the bake orifice. Thank you Mark
1 Answer Mark, This information is correct that you would need to order the gas valve WPW10602001 and the fitting W10853603 for the broil in order to convert back to natural gas. This is per the manufacturer and there is no other way to get the parts required. Read More...
