Barry S. August 01, 2014 for Model Number ET21DKXDW01 Replacing overload/relay w/capacitor. Only have 1 red wire and 1 white wire. The capacitor originally was in a piggyback aparatus which did not require a wire. How am I to connect the relay/overload and capacitor together. I know how to connect the relay and overload to the compressor just clueless about the capacitor.
1 Answer Hello Barry, The new relay has three terminals. The neutral wire connects to the side of the relay with two terminals on it. The capacitor connects to the other one and the terminal on the opposite side of the relay. The hot wire connects to the overload. Read More...
Michelle June 17, 2014 for Model Number ED27PQXFN01 I have a whirlpool side by side. The start relay went out, so I bought a replacement one and also an overload. I cannot remember how they were put in there. The 3 prongs seem to be upside down from what I've seen on all the videos and such. Also there are only 2 wires, one for the overload and one for the relay. I know the red one is for the overload, and the white one is for the relay, but I cant remember which prong the white one goes on, there are 3 and a little one.. they are numbered 1-4, the little one being 4.. any ideas?
1 Answer Hello Michelle, The white wire will connect to terminal number 2 on the start relay. Read More...
Dimitri November 26, 2013 for Model Number WHIRPOOL SIDE BY SIDE BRS71ABANA00 I have 2 leads on the capacitor (one blue e another white) and there are 2 white leads together all to be conected to a 8EA14C3. The two white, seem to come from the rear of the condenser fan. Wich lead goes to n° 1 n° 2 and n° 3 of the relay. Please Help me
1 Answer Hello Dimitri. Red goes to overload. Then on the back of the relay, where the holes are on the relay, you will put double white on the number 5 and blue on number 6. Read More...
Ed October 10, 2013 for Model Number Whirlpool model GD2SHAXLT02 I recently ordered replacement compressor relay and overload part number 4387535. The "kit" has two pieces. The overload fits fine, I re-attached the red wire to it. However the relay does not seem to fit.I have a blue wire and white wire that need to be re-attached. The white wire's female end is smaller than the blue and does not fit onto any of the terminals on the relay. There are also four terminals on the new relay, so I don't know which two to use. I also cannot figure out the purpose of the red wire that came with the kit? Any help would be appreciated.
1 Answer Hello Ed. You Purchased the wrong kit. You need part number 8201786 for the correct one. Read More...
Ted August 04, 2013 for Model Number et20gkxtw00 i have this fridge with one white wire, one blue wire from capacitor, one red wire to capacitor with a hook like a bridge for a terminal connector. how do i reconnect with new overload.
1 Answer Ted, The white wire will go to the overload which is the white piece. The red wire will go to the run side of the relay and the blue will go to the start side of the relay. If you are looking at the compressor from the side and the single prong is at the bottom then the red would go on the right and the blue on the left and if the terminals on the compressor are where the single terminal is on top then it would be the opposite. Jamal April 01, 2013 for Model Number ET16JKXHW00 I have a 13 year old whirlpool fridge. I have the kit with klaxon and overload with red wire. There is 1 red wire which I know goes to the overload, but there are 2 white wires that connect to only 1 pin on the relay. Unfortunately, I didn't make note of which terminal I pulled them off. They are together and both connect to 1 terminal on the relay, but I can't remember whether it was terminal 1 or 2? Could you help?
1 Answer Hello Jamal. Every wiring diagram for the model number you provided has the whites going to the overload and the red to the PTC relay on terminal number 5. Read More...
John L. October 21, 2012 for Model Number Whirlpool ED22LFXGW00 I pulled the wire to the relay from refrigerator. There are wires leading to the overload and relay, red and white. I haven't removed the overload and wire attached. I did remove the relay and white wire. The relay has a rattle inside. After reading it sounds like its bad due to the rattle inside. I didnt pay attention to which terminal that white wire attaches to when I pulled it off. There are numbers on each terminal, which terminal does the white wire attach to on the relay when replaced? How do I tell if the overload needs replacement too? How to test to see if its still good? Inital observation when the unit wasnt getting cold, everything powered up inside the fridge. Lights on, fans inside on, and fan down by the compressor on. After hearing few clicks from the compressor trying to turn on I unplugged it and waited 30sec. Plugged it back in and only lights were on. No Fans working. Did the relay cause everything to cease working or is it something else causing the fans to stop working. Read something about stuck in Defrost Mode, if thats the case or it just need more time for fans to kick back on? TY for help
1 Answer Hi. The red wire goes to the compressor overload "c" terminal. It is the white device with the single terminal in the kit part # 4387535. The units white wire connects to the compressor "m" (run) terminal. The two capacitor blue wires have to hook to the brown relay. One capacitor wire hooks to the single terminal on the new brown relay. On the other side of the brown relay there are 2 terminals. The top one connects to the units white wire. The bottom terminal connects to the the other capacitor wire. If you need to use the red wire in the kit for extending a wire from the unit then this is whats it's for. Yes - rattling ptc is sign of a bad internal relay (ptc). Thank You. Read More...
Inquiry July 30, 2012 for Model Number Et8ghmxlq01 On overload there are 2 prongs. Do I attatch red wires to the longer or shorter prong? Also is there a certain way the white wires attatch to the relay? Initally plugged the two new componets into fridge and compressor began to work. Then 5 minutes later fridge stopped and fan stopped as well...fan was working before the crash. And was working when new componets installed. But after the 5 min everything stopped working. Any ideas? Thank you.
1 Answer Hello. It may have went into the defrost cycle. The red wire goes to the long spade on the overload 4387535. Read More...
Ken June 08, 2012 for Model Number Ed2phemt00 How do I hook the wires to the relay from refrigerator? The wires from the refridgerator are red and two white. Where do they go and what pins on the relay?
1 Answer Hello Ken, Red goes to the overload. This is the common terminal, (the white component is the overload). The white wires go to the side of the relay that has two terminals, one over another. Read More...
