Cdan March 25, 2017 for Model Number MDB7749AWW2 Our dishwasher starts its cycle (normal/heated dry) and stops at some point and the start button blinks. We have to push the start button several times to eventually have it finish the load. All the buttons work except the "heavy" load button (although it works occasionally). Does this sound like a whole new control panel is needed. The control panel was just replaced 1.5 years ago and the dishwasher is only about 4 years old.
1 Answer CDan, You will want to check the ribbon connection to make sure that the ribbon harness is not damaged or corroded. This sounds like an issue with the control panel. Read More...

Kim K. July 07, 2015 for Model Number MDB7749AWQ1 Hi - I've had this dishwasher for about 4 years, and just the other day, I went to change the options (wanted to do a hi-temp wash) and the light for that option wouldn't light up. I can use the dishwasher on the settings it had (which is Normal cycle and heated dry) but the rest of the cycle buttons and the rest of the options buttons won't light up when pushed. Does this mean the control panel needs to be replaced? Or is it something that I can fix by cleaning off the terminals or something? If it needs to be replaced, is it just a matter of taking the inside panel of the door off, unplugging the old control panel and plugging the new one in? Or is there something else going on here? I would surely appreciate any advice you can offer! I suspect that the other buttons are not long for this world if most of the rest of them have gone the trip... Thanks very much! Kim K.
1 Answer Hello Kim. Based on the information you provided you will need to replace the control panel W10811150 on the unit. Read More...
Connie June 10, 2015 for Model Number MDB7749AWQ1 My dishwasher does not start or any of the button on the front do not work. Last week it started but the auto clean button would not work and now nothing works. I think it is the control panel. How hard is it to replace?
1 Answer Hello Connie. It does sound like the control panel is bad. These are not to hard to replace. You will need to disconnect the power to the unit. Then remove the screws securing the inner door panel. Remove the inner door panel and remove the cover off the control board. Remove the ribbon cable from the control board and remove the screws holding the control board housing in place. Next remove the screws holding the control panel in place. Reinstall with the new control panel in reverse order. Read More...
Mrs. C September 30, 2014 for Model Number MDB7749AWW1 The start button on my Maytag dishwasher doesn't work. Other buttons on the control panel do work.... so we are getting power. It's just that the start button won't light up, nor will it start the machine. Do I have to replace the whole control panel for this, or can I order a smaller part, or perform a smaller repair to fix it? Also, I'm not even sure that a control panel will fix it-- I don't know anything about repairs. I'm just assuming it will.... Any thoughts? Mrs. C
1 Answer Mrs. C, With all other keys working but the start button you will want to check the door switch on the unit. The unit will not start if the door switch is faulty. Read More...
Andy January 17, 2014 for Model Number mdb7749awi Looking for dishwasher control board number w10199665 silver. Where can find one?
Rosco November 18, 2013 for Model Number MDB7749AWW2 I see from a reference from the manufacturers site that this is the bisque one, I am looking for white. I would assume that when you put in your Model number that has the color code in it, it would take you to the white one. When i put in the part number fo my needed color it takes me to a refrigerator parts list. Do you have a number for the white Control board. I would appreciate the help, Thanks
1 Answer Rosco, Thank you for notifying us of the mistake in our parts diagram. We are in the process of making the corrections. Your dishwasher is a "white" (the last W is for the color of the unit) The correct part number for the control panel for a MDB7749AWW2 is W10811149 Thanks Again Read More...
Larry November 15, 2013 for Model Number mdb7749awb1 I'm looking at the replacement control panel for my Maytag dishwasher. I wanted to confirm that this part number W10356468/AP5628119 is black. I looked it up on some other sites and found that it was described as "biscuit" in color. My unit is black - can you confirm that this part [ http://www.appliancepartspros.com/whirlpool-panel-cntl-w10356468-ap5628119.html ] is the right, black one? Thank you, Larry
