Questions & Answers

For Whirlpool Control Panel (Part Number: OEM18024771)

Miranda for Model Number DU1055XTVB1

I have a Whirl Pool Quiet Partner II that has a blinking pots and pans LED. From what I've found this is an indication of a bad control panel. It did this 3-4 months ago and I was able to remove the control panel and "wiggle" it's internal connections and get it working again. This time the same process got one full wash. Did it one more time and nothing, sigh... The pots and pans LED and the normal LED did alternate blinking for a bit but the majority of the time it's just been the pots and pans LED. Did I mention none of the buttons respond? Before I order I want to clarify that the control panel is in deed what I need?

Miranda, You're correct " PROBLEM: Won’t Run and LED Above Key(s) is Flashing Rapidly > Short circuit(s) in keypad or in control’s input lines that read the keys. > Don’t replace both: See first section of “Checking Keypad Operation” for test to determine whether shorts are in the keypad or the control." Replace the control panel first.

Hello Joey. Yes, based on the information you provided, it sounds like the control panel WP3385734 is bad and will need to be replaced. If some of the buttons are not working, and others do, then the control panel is bad. Check and make sure the ribbon cable is connected good and is clean and dry. Hope this helps.

Hello Brian. With the unit in the off mode, press heated dry, normal, heated dry, normal, heated dry, normal. The unit should start running, do not stop it, let it complete. Then every time before starting the dishwasher, you will need to get the water hot at the sink. Also, test the heater W10518394 and the thermostat WP661566 and make sure they are good. They should read closed for continuity. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html

Remove the inner door panel and remove the cover off the control board. Remove the ribbon cable from the control board and remove the screws holding the control board housing in place. Next remove the screws holding the control panel in place. Reinstall with the new control panel in reverse order. Hope this helps.

Paul, You more than likely have a faulty keypad(s) WP3385734. "PROBLEM: WON’T RUN AND LED ABOVE KEY(S) IS FLASHING RAPIDLY -Short circuit(s) in keypad or in control’s input lines that read the keys. - Don’t replace both: See first section of “Checking Keypad Operation” for test to determine whether shorts are in the keypad or the control." You'll also need to reset the control board, by running the diagnostics test " NOTE To invoke the Diagnostics Cycle, perform the following key presses in less than 6 seconds while in standby:

Hi Peter. Remember that you can use the tech. sheet folded in the lower kick panel. This will aid in a field service test. You need to replace the control panel as blinking lights indicate there is a shorted or stuck panel key command. Part # WP3385734. Thank You.

Hello! The manufacturer does not offer any type of glue to install this part back into place. However, it should be possible to use any type of glue such as gorilla glue, super glue, etc., to apply this decal back on. Otherwise, the manufacture will suggest replacing the control panel assembly WP3385734. Thanks!
