1 Answer Hello JJ. You twist to unscrew the bypass from the filter head. These can be a little tight. Read More...
Nani April 19, 2015 for Model Number WRS965CIAM00 Hi there...We are new to our home and have found out we have a reverse osmosis system. Which sounds great, but we are not getting any ice. Sears has come out twice and we even bought a different frig. Would using a bypass cap potentially help this situation with our current model? So appreciate any help!
1 Answer Nani, You will want to remove the unit if it is hooked up to a RO system. There is no bypass required to use the unit without a filter. Read More...
Marty April 02, 2015 for Model Number Whirlpool ED5GTB I have r o in the house, water comes out of the refrigerator dispenser very slow. Do I need a by pass filter or a by pass plug?? Thank you
1 Answer Marty, For your unit there is not a bypass plug. If you have the filter in then you would just want to take the filter out. Read More...

William S. February 27, 2015 for Model Number WRS325FDA *0* I have an RO system. Does this model require a bypass plug for the filter?
1 Answer Hello William, This design unit does not require a bypass plug. Water will dispense without one but it is not recommended for the unit to be supplied through a Reverse Osmosis system. You see, the water valve is closed by the water pressure. Since the water pressure through a RO system is substantially diminished, there is a high probability of an overfill situation in the icemaker since the water valve will close too slowly. Chuck February 25, 2015 for Model Number ed2khaxvbo1 Will water still flow without filter or do I need bypass plug?
Ray February 12, 2015 for Model Number Kenmore Elite Refrigerator Model: 795.51822.410 I recently purchased in December 2014 a Kenmore Elite side by side 22 cu ft refrigerator Model Number: 795.51822.410. It take a (made by LQ) Water Filter p/n ADQ73613402 that must be replaced every 6 months. I would like to locate a water filter bypass plug/cap/cover/.etc that will replace the refrigerator water filter p/n above. Need a description, part number, price and place to order it from. Sears Parts Direct is absolutely no help as they are unable to even find the model number of my new refrigerator in their system. So they can’t help me. I have a top-of-the-line three cartridge under the sink water filtration system that lead to the refrigerator and I don’t need the refrigerator unit water filter. The water filter also reduces the available water pressure to the appliance. Thanks Ray
1 Answer Ray, Unfortunately we are unable to pull up the filter information for this unit. The part appears to be a sears only part and cannot locate anywhere other than there. For the bypass it is not showing a bypass on the parts listing and may not require one. Read More...
Ryan T. January 12, 2015 for Model Number WSF26C2EXW01 Hello: I have a reverse osmosis system installed feeding the fridge. The water dispenser is dripping. 1)Can I remove the filter without a bypass plug or do I need one? 2)Any other suggestions? Add pressure gauge to line to see pressure? If under 30psi should I add a booster pump? Thanks, Ryan T.
1 Answer Hello Ryan. No By Pass Required Remove Filter. If it still drips, you will have to remove the reverse osmosis system per the manufacturer. Read More...
Troy January 05, 2015 for Model Number ED5FHEXNL03 Want a Water filter bypass Currently using filter 8212652 Maytag PUR What is the part number I need?
Antonio January 02, 2015 for Model Number WRS325FDAM Is there a bypass for this model? I installed a reverse osmosis system and pressure is low.
1 Answer Hello Antonio, This will not help the normal operation of the water valve since water pressure closes it, (there is no internal spring to aid its' closure. It is closed by water pressure alone). If the water pressure is low, the water valve will close too slowly and cause overfill issues and dripping internally to the water valve. This unit requires no bypass plug and should pass water with the filter out of the unit, but no filter will not increase water pressure to the water inlet valve. This issue is best resolved by either bypassing the R.O. system or, in some cases, the R.O. company will have a resolution in the form of a pressure increasing accessory. Read More...
