For Whirlpool Washer Drain Pump Assembly (Part Number: OEM18022332)

Hello Andy, There will always be water in the outer tub of unit. This is for all models. Also your inner tub has water that is in the body of the tub which will make you think that it is holding water. When you turn the tub you should hear water. You can check to make sure that your drain is not clogged but it should sound like water in the tub.

Rosemarie, You probably have a faulty drain pump motor WP25001052. There is no "control" on the drain pump, only a motor and the voltage to the motor is supplied from the machine control board 22004488. You may want to disconnect the red and white wires from the drain pump motor, insert or attach your meter leads to the wire twerminals, and select a spin/drain cycle and start the washer, If you read 120 VAC across the two wires the control board and wire harness are OK and you need the drain pump. If you don't have the voltage, you'll need to check the wires from the drain pump back up to the control board, and check Conn.P6 pin#4(red wire) for 120 VAC out of the control board, no voltage would indicate a faulty control board.

Hello Bill, This sounds like the unit has a clog or the pump WP25001052 is bad. These pumps aren't as robust as the other pumps they make and when debris gets to the impeller, it wastes the pump most of the time. You do need to remove both hoses and blow through them to ensure there are no clogs.

Hello Ward. The series are the first two numbers in the serial number. You can use those number to determine which pump WP25001052 or WP22003059 is needed for your unit. Hope this helps.

Vanessa M. for Model Number FAV6800AWW

I have a Maytag Neptune washer. It has stopped spinning and a fault code "Lr" keeps coming up. I had this same problem about two years ago and a repair man fixed it after three trips. I can't remember the part that fixed it but when facing the washer he put it on the right side of the washer. My husband could fix it if he knew what part it was. If you could help with this I would greatly appreciate it. When I purchase another washer, it will not be a Maytag, it will be a Whirlpool! Thank you, Vanessa

Hi Vanessa. Remove the power. Remove the back. Take the motor connector off. Use an ohm meter on the 2-gray wires. they should ohm out between 155 - 195 ohms. now check the black, white and brown wires. They should ohm out to 5 - 7 ohms between any 2 wires. Check all individual wires mentioned, one leg at a time against the motor chassis to see if any of these windings are grounded. If so then you will need motor part # is WP25001034. If all these windings test out good, then replace the motor control assy. part # is WP25001079. Thank you.

Sally, the ND code indicates the washer is not draining, or the water level switch is not resetting to the empty position. So, does the washer drain untill it's empty ? if not you may need a new drain pump WP25001052 and the water level switch is probably mounted to the drain pump 12001891 if my guess is right, depending on the model and serial number, Thanks and Good Luck.

Jennifer, The "ND" code stands for No Drain, or the control board is not seeing the water level switch circuit, reset to empty. With a noisy pump and a drain code problem, replace the pump WP25001052, and check the drain hoses for debris. The water level switch mounts directly to the top of the drain pump, check the wiring for loose connections, and the interior of the rubber cap and opening for debris,( lint or water/detergent deposits ) blocking the air flow to the switch. Thanks and Good Luck
