The Drain Pump Assembly is an OEM part for Whirlpool front-loading washing machines. Located within the bottom of the tub housing, this assembly pumps water out through the drain hose during drain cycles. Efficient water removal relies on a functioning drain pump.

Causes of a drain pump failing can include clogs or mineral deposits obstructing the impeller over numerous washes. The electric motor inside may also degrade from extensive usage cycles.

Symptoms of a bad drain pump assembly include:

  • Retained water remaining in the bottom of the washer tub
  • Slow or incomplete draining at the end of cycles
  • Gurgling or grinding noises from underneath the tub area
  • Error codes related to overflow or drainage issues

This OEM Whirlpool part is compatible with KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, and some Kenmore front-loading washer models.
