will not drain nor spin. Washer stoped at rinse/spin cycle Not sure if the agitator turns. Tub full. When I reset the unit to spin I hear the motor humming for 10 seconds then stops. Is Lid switch OK? No smells and other noise. How do I check for a locked up motor, pump ( is something stuck in the pump?)or defective lid switch. Aslo can it be the clutch assemble.? Washer worked yesterday, then it just stopped. The only thing that changes was a 17 yr old who overloads the washer untill we told her not to. MVWC5ESXW thanks

Hello Brian. Lid switch sounds fine. Try turning the pump and motor and see if it is clogged and locked up.

Darrell, You will want to pull the cold water hose off of the water valve to check the screen on the valve. The screen may be clogged with debris which would cause slow fill. If the screen is clear then you want to check to make sure that you are getting good water flow from the hose and if you are then you need to replace the water valve.

Hello Lazar. It sounds like the unit is siphoning out the water in the unit. Check and make sure there is only 6" of drain hose in the drain pipe. Also, make sure the drain pipe is 36" off the floor in height. You will need to check and make sure the drain hose has an air gap going into the drain pipe. If it is air tight, it will siphon.

Mary D for Model Number 11092273100

I am having a problem with the Kenmore washer model # (110) 92273100. My washer fills and agitates but does not drain, spin or empty. I wanted to ask how do I check the lid switch on this model? I looked and pressed something in the hole where one normally would be but there was nothing in the hole or the usual click you would hear (I had this problem with another previous washer) when you press down. Also, I started looking for other causes since I could not find it (the lid switch) and was wondering if it is possible that the drain pump could be the problem? I see there is a compatible pump available for sale on this site. I am not sure if I will also need a new hose? Are there any other items that may also be needed are but are sold separately from the pump? Thanks, I really appreciate your time and consideration! Mary

Mary, You would want to check the lid switch by doing a continuity test. You would access the lid switch wires and check across them with the lid in the closed position. If the lid switch shows continuity then it is ok and if not then you would need to replace the switch.

Jennifer for Model Number Whirlpool -Serial number LSW9700PQ1

I washed a medium size load today, The washer was acting 100% normal. It got to the last spin cycle and it stopped working suddenly and the water never drained. I tried turning the knobs to try different setting and when I pull out on the knob for the washer to come on, all I heard is a humming noise, when I open the lip, The humming stops and I do hear the click while opening the lid. So i'm pretty sure that its not the lid switch (?) I'm kinda thinking its something to do with the pump but I need some pro advise to make sure im thinking in the right direction before ordering parts. At the moment, It won't do anything at all but you can hear the motor trying to come on. Please HELP!

Hello Jennifer. Check and make sure the washer pump and motor are not locked up and if not, you may need to order and replace the timer on the unit.
