For Whirlpool Dryer Rear Drum Support Roller Kit (Part Number: OEM9295044)

Kim for Model Number LER5644JQ0

I just replaced the drum rollers (thanks to your excellent video) and I stretched the back tri-ring on the left roller while pushing it on. While it is in place in the groove, I feel the roller is a little sloppier than it should be. Don't have it back together yet, have a couple more parts to replace, but if dryer is still noisy, would it be that sloppy triangle thing, or should I keep looking for another cause. I am also replacing belt which showed just the beginning of a tiniest bit of fraying, and the foam seal on the lint vent which was deteriorating. Thanks

Hello Kim, The ring will not cause the noise since the drum roller rides in a position that actually retains it. This will either be the bearing ring WP3394509 or the idler pulley WP691366 in most cases. Be sure to clean the drum roller shafts if there is any sticky residue on them.

Hello William, Kenmore has had instances where an incorrect number was printed onto the units' I.D. tag. This could be one of these instances. Unfortunately, you will have to contact sears to obtain the correct model number. We are unable to do this since the Kenmore computer system is a closed system we cannot access.

Rick, For the thumping sound when the tumbler is rotating, you will want to check to make sure that there is nothing caught in the blower wheel and also check to make sure that the tumbler is not out of round.

Hello Robert, I would start at the blower wheel WP694089 since if something gets into it, the drum cannot turn. If nothing is in there, go in from the front and make sure the drum rollers and idler wheel will all spin freely. Make sure you can spin the motor by hand and while the unit is apart, bypass the door switch and see if the motor will start. If not, replace the motor 279827.

Joshua, Yes the dryer needs to be level in both directions(slightly higher in the front 1/4 inch is OK). You also need to check the roller shafts WPW10359269 and WPW10359270 and spacers etc. to make sure they are clean, not damaged and lightly lubed with turbine oil. Also make sure they are straight and level, if they are at an angle down or up, they will cause excess wear on the rollers.

Hello Daniel. It does sound like the rollers are bad. However, it is best to check and make sure that is where the noise is coming from.
