2 Answers Hello Ken, This is either going to be a water pressure issue or the water valve W10408179 is failing. Read More...

2 Answers Hello Ken301. Check and see if the water is leaking out of the icemaker. If so, replace the icemaker. If the icemaker is overfilling, replace the water valve. Read More...
S Mark December 18, 2014 for Model Number KTRS20MWH10 Ice sometimes gets stuck on top of icemaker. The part number I have is 4317943. The refrigerator model number is KTRS20MWH10. Its a Kitchen Aid. Usually the ice maker cuts off and stops making ice when this happens. Recently, when the ice gets stuck in the icemaker, the water overfills and pours into the ice bin. The water will not shut off until the stuck ice is removed. What do I need to do? If need be, should I replace the icemaker and all the cables or just the icemaker? Should I also replace the shutoff valve on the back? Please let me know. Ice has been getting stuck for awhile, but this new problem of water pouring into the ice bin is new. Thanks.
1 Answer Hello Mark. Usually the ice gets stuck because the water valve is not letting in enough water to make large enough cubes to drop out of the rotating fingers. You will need to replace the water valve WP2315576 on the unit. Also, make sure the freezer is 0 to 5°. Read More...
Mark December 17, 2014 for Model Number KBLC36FMS01 Kitchenaide Earlier I asked the question...I purchased the following...ice maker assembly, wire harness, water filter, water inlet valve.....originally the ice maker was peeling and mixing with the cubes....after removing the ice maker I noticed the terminals were corroded and not making connections....so after replacing all the listed items still no ice...there is water in the tray...because after replacing the ice maker..which I can do in record time now after removing and replacing a number of times...I hear and see water filling the tray...it freezes...but no harvest...what can I check?.....yes I have water pressure....I waited the 72 ....making ice the old fashion way...
1 Answer Hello Mark. The icemaker cycles based on temp. You need to check and make sure the freezer is 0 to 5°. If not, the icemaker will not cycle. This is the only thing that causes the icemaker to cycle. There is a thermo-disc in the module that closes when cold enough to start the harvest process. Read More...
Pat December 08, 2014 for Model Number maytag psd262lhez Just installed a new ice maker, how long before it starts to make ice? It has been 3 hours, nothing. One wed site said up to 24 hours, is this true, or have we installed wrong? We followed your web to a T
1 Answer Pat, Typically the icemaker can take up to 24 hours to start making ice. You will want to make sure that the water valve is getting power from the icemaker and check to make sure that the fill tube is not frozen. Read More...
Mark December 05, 2014 for Model Number KBLC36FMS01 I replaced my ice maker at first because the coating on the maker was peeling off and getting mixed in with ice....later to see that the ice maker unit was totally corroded...bought a new ice maker unit and installed...still no ice....replaced water inlet valve...no ice...replaced filter...no ice....replaced wire harness..still no ice..not sure what to check now.....
1 Answer Hello Mark. Make sure the water is on. And the temp is 0 to 5°. If so, check the icemaker and make sure it is on and the fill tube is not frozen and clogged. Read More...
Bill November 28, 2014 for Model Number WRTI41SZDWOO I have a whirlpool refrig that I just got from National Grid and it has the option to add an icemaker. Is this the kit that I would need or would I need more? Thank you
1 Answer Bill, The model number listed is not coming up as a valid model. While this icemaker 4317943 should work in your unit it is not a complete kit with water valve, tubing and bucket. The most likely icemaker kit for your unit may be part number W11700559 but cannot confirm this without the correct model number. Read More...
Kthy November 16, 2014 for Model Number ed0gtxkq00 My ice maker began to leak water into the bucket creating an ice berg. My hubby's solution was to just grind the chunks up into the feed to glasses. Now the bottom has come out of the bucket. Do I need to order anything [water related] other than the Whirlpool icemaker kit? I am planning to replace it myself.
1 Answer Hello Kthy, You will need to check the water pressure to the water valve behind the unit. If it is too low the valve will not close properly and cause the complaint you listed. If the water pressure is about 40 PSI or higher, the water valve is suspect and should be replaced. I would order part number 1129316 for the model you listed. Read More...
1 Answer Hello Allen. You have to use a 1/4" nut driver and your hands and feel them to remove them from the unit. Read More...
John October 30, 2014 for Model Number MZD2768 Hello, I am having two problems in the freezer compartment of our refrigerator. I am getting ice build up in the bottom of freezer. Also The ice stripper arms freeze when dispensing ice cubes. The unit makes a groaning sound and I have to force the arms down to stop the sound. It makes ice fine just freezes the stripper arms so they cannot cycle.
1 Answer Hello John. If the cubes are normal size, you will need to clean out the drain in the freezer and replace the icemaker D7824706Q on the unit. Read More...
