Fdc February 07, 2012 for Model Number Refrigerator Model# MFF2557HEW I have a Maytag refrigerator (Model: MFF2557HEW) that's about 8 years old and the ice maker stopped working so I put a jumper wire in the "L" & "V" holes and it still did not call for water. Next, I tried jumping the "H" & "T" holes but still no luck so I purchased and installed a new water valve and it still does not call for water. Is this confirmation that the ice unit is "KAPUT" and I need a new one or what else can I do to test the unit? Note: all lines are free of ice! Please advise...Thanks
1 Answer Hello FDC. Test for power to the water valve when the icemaker 4317943 is jumped. If there is no power to the water valve, you will need to replace the icemaker. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Regina February 05, 2012 for Model Number AP4135008 (Ice Maker) I recently purchased this model icemaker from Appliance Parts Pros. It has worked fine until yesterday when the shutoff arm came off causing the icemaker to overflow with ice. I replaced the shutoff arm and the icemaker began to cycle and made ice but never dumped it. Could the arm have been replaced at the wrong point in the cycle? If so, how can that be resolved?
1 Answer Hello Regina. No, but check and make sure the arm is in the down position on the icemaker D7824706Q or it will not work properly. Hope this helps. Read More...

John February 01, 2012 for Model Number GE side by side model BISW422ELD, Ice Maker modelJS2 Recently, occasionally the ice maker will continue to fill after harvest cycle causing the ice maker to overflow into the ice basket and out the ice dispenser door onto the floor. I took it off and defrosted everything and reassemble reconnecting it to the wall of the freezer and it worked for a week or so then began overfilling again. Is my problem the ice maker or some sort of valve?
1 Answer Hello John. Based on the information you provided, it sounds like the icemaker is bad and will need to be replaced. Hope this helps. Read More...
Sue January 30, 2012 for Model Number D7824705 I have a slow water drip at the lower front part of the ice tray, it looks a though it is at a seam. It will drip until the water freezes, by that time the ice in the bin is froze together making a large ice block. Do I need a new ice maker?
1 Answer Hello Sue. No, it sounds like the water valve is leaking and is over flowing the icemaker D7824706Q. You will need to replace the water valve. Hope this helps. Read More...
Eric January 27, 2012 for Model Number scd25tw I replaced the ice maker and the water valve. The water despenser works great but the icemaker is not filling. Water delivery to the ice maker was not part of my original problem.
1 Answer Hello Eric. Remove the wire from the dispenser valve and place it on the icemaker valve. Press the dispenser level and see if water comes into the icemaker. If not, then the fill tube may still be frozen in the unit, or the water line may not be seated in the valve. Hope this helps. Read More...
Karen January 16, 2012 for Model Number BR22TW (BOM: P1196710WW) When I get this icemaker to replace my old icemaker, can I reuse my old wiring harness or do I need to order the AP4427021.
1 Answer Hello Karen. As long as the old wiring harness is good, you can use the old wiring harness on the icemaker D7824706Q. Hope this helps. Read More...
Jodi January 14, 2012 for Model Number ars2661bs The ice maker will not trigger the water to fill the maker, therefore it doesn't produce ice. The water dispenser works fine. A repair tech assessed the side-by-side fridge/freezer and confirmed that the system is ok otherwise, but suggested that we replace the entire ice maker. I plan on repairing this myself. Do I need to replace the entire ice maker or can I repair the part(s) that is not switching on the water? Thanks!
1 Answer Jodi, The technician is certain you do not have 120 VAC on the wires to the icemaker solenoid on the fill valves WP12544002 and 12002193 ? if either valve has an "open" circuit or no voltage the icemaker will not fill and make cubes. Based on your post information, you would need the control module and motor assembly, which is not available as separate components, so you will need to order the icemaker assembly D7824706Q Thanks and Good Luck Read More...
