1 Answer Hi Gary. You may just have a bent ejector blade. You can remove the front cover and loosen the 4 - corner screws. Then you will have enough play to unjam the blades. If you see calcium build up in the cube areas, this will make ejection harder. You may ohm out the motor windings and the heater for resistance. Ultimately you may be a hole lot better off just to replace the whole ice maker part # 4317943. The thermostat needs to be closed at 14° in order for the motor to advance after the heater is on for approx. 6 seconds to help the ejection process. Thank You. Read More...

January 07, 2012 for Model Number Amana TX21VL The icemaker works fine but water from the auger overfills and causes freeze up in the bottom of the tray and also a large icicle in the front of the tray. The fill valve was replaced about a year ago due to lack of ice production, which was successful. If flow adjustment is the problem, how do I get the cover off?
1 Answer Hi Dominic. Pry open the cover with a small blade screwdriver. Then you can see the small 3/8 " hole in the upper rt. corner. Inside this hole is a brass plate with a hole punched out in the center of it. This hole is centered from the factory so you get a avg. fill. Then you look to the immediate rt. and you will see the white screw head that adjust this fill adjustment. You only move this approx 1/2 turn either way from center. 1 Answer Larry, Try this, Disconnect the wires from the ice maker solenoid on the fill valve, Attach the meter leads to the wires and cycle the icemaker, if you have 120 VAC across the wires replace the fill valve WP67005154. Pat V December 26, 2011 for Model Number sub zero 550 icemaker stopped working. Removed unit and tested wiring harness. Cannot get continuity across the pink "hot" wire (one end connects to the rocker switch - the other terminates at the ice maker). There is a ceramic/plastic 2 inch casing along this wire. Can there be a fault in this wire? What does the black casing do?
1 Answer Pat, The white plastic/ ceramic casing is most likely an "inline" fuse. You'll need to disconnect the wire at both connection points and check for a "closed" circuit, if there is no resistance, then the fuse would be "open", and you'll need to check for a "shorted component in the icemaker assembly(thermostat, heater, motor or switches).
