Byers April 23, 2020 for Model Number KBFS25EVMS00 Water freezing as it enters ice maker - Just installed dual water supply valve - Freezing water blocks tray from filing - Can I go to supply valve, disconnect supply tube for ice maker, inject air pressure to remove ice from filler tube ? Bottom freezer - trouble removing ice maker from unit
1 Answer Byers, it would be recommended that the ice is cleared out using warm water to spray into the fill tube or by carefully using a small flat head screwdriver. It is not recommended that pressurized air is used as it can cause a tube to rupture. Read More...
Michael Rosen April 15, 2020 for Model Number KBFS25EVWH1 My ice maker arm keeps falling off. I replaced the arm recently but it keeps happening occasionally. What could be causing this? Thanks.
1 Answer Michael, If you do not have the icemaker arm pushed into the back of the icemaker module properly then the arm would keep coming loose. There is a hole in the back upper right side of the icemaker module that you will push the arm into and it should be tight so it does not fall out. Read More...

James October 20, 2019 for Model Number Kenmore mod 596.76579600 I ordered your part #D7824706Q installed still no ice. was told by your tech that I needed water valve ordered water valve part# AP6010372, installed still no ice or water in tray. There is water to valve, was told it may take 24 hrs for it to recycle. everything installed as directed WHAT could I have overlooked.? This is a bottom freezer unit. I have installed ice makers in past but on side by side units.....could use some advice. is there a way to make these cycle?
1 Answer Hello James, check the freezer temp is lower then 10 deg, Then access the ice maker, pry off the front cover , hold in the freezer door light/interlock switch and using a multimeter check for 120v at the ice maker terminal test points L and N, let go of the switch and should lose voltage then leave the meter's probes in L-N and close the freezer door 120v should reappear if not lift the door slightly ,its possible the door has sagged slightly and not closing the switch fully,. If you want to cycle the ice maker, hold in the door switch and use an insulated jumper and jump between T and H, for a few seconds the ice maker will run a harvest mode. Read More...
1 Answer Jeff, icemakers operate off of temperature. When you replace an icemaker, it will need to cool down to about 0-5 degrees F, before it will cycle and fill with water. This may take several hours depending on how cold it is in your freezer. Once it fills with water, the warm water opens a thermostat inside the mold of the icemaker, it then has to freeze that water until the thermostat is closed and the harvest cycle begins. Typically it takes 6-8 hours for an icemaker to cycle and produce ice. Read More...
Doug September 21, 2019 for Model Number 596 78572802 My ice has little pieces of plastic type flakes in some ice cubes. Where is this from?
1 Answer Doug, commonly if the ice maker has some age to it or there is hard water going into it, the coating on the tray will start to break down. The ice maker tray can be inspected for signs of the coating breaking down. If the coating of the tray is intact, then you will want to inspect the water lines throughout for any signs of breaking down. Read More...
Gerry July 12, 2019 for Model Number 106.74252402 When replacing the icemaker the video clearly states turn off the power, but there is no mention of the water supply. Is it necessary to shut off the water to the refrigerator?

Gary Husbands June 24, 2019 My ice try is not level and when fills with water it freezes every where except the tray. Can I fix or level the tray?
1 Answer Gary, First make sure the refrigerator is level front to back and side to side. Place a small torpedo level on the ice maker rake arm, loosen the two screws that secure the ice maker to the side wall and adjust the level then secure the screws holding the ice maker. Then place the level across the top of the control head, and adjust the assembly for level and secure the ice maker, recheck for level in both directions. Check and make sure the fill tube is properly inserted into the funnel on the ice maker. Read More...
Bob May 17, 2019 for Model Number Jsd2695kes So I have changed the ice maker, water valve, and checked for continuity through the wiring harness from the ice maker to the connection to the back of the freezer. The ice maker ice ejectors will spin continuously but no water ever makes it to the tray. I'm pretty sure the fill tube is not frozen either. I’m at a loss of what to do. Unless one of the new parts was DOA.?.?.
1 Answer Hello Bob, The icemaker harvest fingers should not rotate continuously. This indicates a problem in the new icemaker assembly. It should be replaced again. If you ordered the parts from us, you will need to call us at 1-877-477-7278 with the model, serial number, and order number and one of our representatives will be happy to get that part shipped out to you under the manufacturers' part warranty. Thank you for your patience and understanding in this matter. Read More...
Jeff April 24, 2019 for Model Number ED5FHEXNB01 The original ice maker had a broken tab on the module. Past experience has shown me that it's easier to replace the entire mechanism. Upon replacing the ice maker I discovered that there is no power to through the harness. This particular model has the harness coming out of the wall with no connection except where it hooks up to the ice maker. I even tried to jump the t and h connections on the new ice maker to no avail. Where does the power come from and how do I fix it?
1 Answer Jeff, There is a fuse on the harness and you will want to test to see if the fuse has continuity and if it does not then the fuse would need replaced in which it would need to be cut and spliced into the harness. The icemaker should have come with a harness that would have a fuse on it. Read More...
