Hello Tom! The icemaker D7824706Q does not include the valve, it is the ice maker only. If you are needing a valve, please supply your appliance model number. Thanks.

Old icemaker stopped working. Took out unit and found massive mineral buildup/corrosion at one end of the u shaped silver tube that is on the bottom of the unit. The end of the tube is gone and the screw is exposed. As far as I can tell from the parts blowout list, it appears that item number AP4135008 is the only way to replace the silver tube. I have two questions: 1. Is the only way to replace the corroded silver U shaped tube to order the entire part number AP4135008? 2. If I order this part, does it include the water valve or do I need to order one separately? (I'm assuming a water valve leak created the corrosion/mineral buildup) Thank you in advance.

My ice maker was cycling very slowly. Twelve hours or more between making batches of ice. We were using ice faster than it being made. When it did cycle it would properly discharge the ice and then fill the tray for the next batch well enough, but it would not eject the ice for a very long time. I ordered a replacement ice maker ( P/N AP4135008) the order sheet used P/N D7824706Q...The new ice make fit very well so I assume it is the correct replacement. However now I get no ice at all. The tray is not filling and so no ice. Any suggestions? Thanks

Hello Dennis. Did you reinstall the bail arm on the new icemaker and pushed it down to turn the icemaker on? Also check and make sure the plug going into the icemaker is cliped and locked into place. Hope this helps.

New Icemaker will not work. New Icemaker came with female connector. Old one was male. I will splice it to make it work. Can you provide the wiring diagram for the 4 wires to hook up my icemaker. The wires are different colors ----same amount of wires.-----My icemaker connector wires need to be spliced in the old fridge's connector wires. Colors of the old connector wires----black, brown, green, & white. New icemaker connector wires----blue, black, yellow, & green w/yellow strip. Can you provide me with correct color splicing conections.

Hello Norm. Due to the lack of a wiring diagram, we would have to recommend you purchase the wire harness for the ice maker WPD7813010 for safety reasons. Thanks!

Hello Norm. Have you tried to remove the old plug harness from your old icemaker to use on the new icemaker? To make the removal of the existing wiring harness easy, you can start by removing the white cover off the old icemaker. You will see the tab that holds the connector in, press it in to release the harness and reinsert it to your new icemaker. Hope this helps!

My ice maker is making a huge glob of ice in the bin and then the corkscrew spins the whole glob and tears off the wires. I think I have tracked it down to one problem. When it turns on the water to fill the tray, it either fills the tray to full and overflows into the bin or the water is splashing out of the tray. My water pressure is 60 PSI. I have replaced parts on this thing several times and it just keeps doing the same thing. I'm ready to blow up my frig....any ideas?

1 Answer

Hello Mark. Check and see if the icemaker tray is warped. If so, you will need to replace the icemaker DA97-00258G. If it is good, you will need to replace the water valve DA74-40150H. Hope this helps.

Hello Larry. If the icemaker is cycling, but not sending power to the valve, you will need to replace the icemaker. You will only have power for a few seconds when the icemaker is in harvest mode. If there is power there, but the valve does not bring in water, you will need to replace the water valve WP2315576. You can test this with a multi-meter MA-DM1. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html
