Karen June 04, 2011 for Model Number ET1CHMXKQ03 Icemaker water is overflowing onto the freezer bottom?
1 Answer Hello Karen. If you disconnect the fridge from the power outlet will the water stop flowing or continue? If it continues, you will have a defective water valve WP2315576. Most of the time the overflow of the icemaker is due to a defective water valve. Taras W. June 01, 2011 for Model Number AP4135008 and AP4427021 Ice maker was working with a broken bail arm. The arm simply wasn't attached because the plastic broke. It would either make too much ice or no ice at all then stopped working all together. Thought the problem would be solved with a replacement ice maker. I first checked to see if the ice maker was getting any power which it wasn't. Replaced the ice maker and waited 48 hrs and still no ice. Checked the new ice maker for power and it wasn't getting power either. I tried all of the different test points using a multimeter for both ice makers. Then decided to try a new wire harness. But that didn't change anything. I also checked that the water valve wasn't iced over or clogged. I can fix just about anything but I stuck on what to do short of calling in a repair guy. The fridge is only about 3 years old and there are no other problems with it. The fridge is made by Amana model number ARB2557CSR. What should I do next?
1 Answer Hello Taras. If you supply your email address, we can send you the service manual for the refrigerator. Hope this helps. Read More...
Kevin May 31, 2011 for Model Number Amana ARB8057CSC Following up on your response to my earlier question... How can I see if the water in the water tube supply line is frozen? Is it simple to pop out, thaw and replace? Thanks.
1 Answer Hello Kevin. You will need to remove the icemaker and look inside the fill tube and see if it is frozen. Also you can remove the water line from the fill tube on the back of the refrigerator and cycle the icemaker to see if water comes out of the line. If so, the fill tube is frozen. Hope this helps. Tom May 31, 2011 for Model Number AP2984633 Icemaker was working great and then it started taking over two hours to complete a cycle (ice dump.) The freezer temp is fine and the water is being supplied as required and freezing within an hour.Could this be an intermitent thermostat? The ohms check of the thermostat is satisfactory, which would make sense since it is still functioning all be it slowly. This is a replacement unit that I installed about 2 years ago.
1 Answer Hello Tom. If the icemaker is not cycling properly, you will need to replace the icemaker 4317943. Hope this helps. Read More...
Kevin May 30, 2011 for Model Number Amana ARB8057CSC My water dispenser inside my Amana bottom freezer fridge works fine but the icemaker quit making ice. The refrigerator is about 7-8 years old. Is it time to replace the icemaker and which part number would I need? Thanks.
1 Answer Hello Kevin! Check to see if the icemaker is filling with water. If it is not, check to make sure that the fill tube has not frozen. If the fill tube is not frozen, test and replace the defective water valve. If the ice maker is filling with water, make sure the freezer is freezing properly between 0-5 degrees. If the freezer is ok, replace the ice maker D7824706Q. Hope this information helps! Thanks. Read More...
Ernie May 29, 2011 for Model Number EDE5JHGXRL00 In the notes for this part it states that this unit does not work on unit's with the ice auger in the door. Mine has an ice dispenser in door for cubes and crushed but the thing that pushes the ice is on the bottom of the ice tub. Will this unit still work?
1 Answer Hello Ernie. 4317943 is indeed the correct part for your unit. While your dispenser is on the door, the auger itself is in the ice bin. I hope this info helps. Read More...
Bob May 29, 2011 for Model Number 596.72282202 I previously asked a question about my non funtioning ice maker and you were correct, the water tube was frozen. I thawed and cleared the tube and the icemaker worked perfectly for a week, then started freezing up again at the tube and started water dripping into the bottom of the freezer and ice collection tray. I cleared the tube a second time with the same result. Is it the secondary water valve causing the problem or the ice maker itself. If it is the valve where is its location?
1 Answer Hello Bob. Yes, you will need to replace the water valve 12002193. It is located on the back of the refrigerator. You will need to remove the lower back cover to replace it. Hope this helps. Read More...
Doug May 28, 2011 for Model Number msd2651hew Icemaker spontaneously quit. It will however make ice if you load the bin with ice, it will make about one tray, then quit. Sometimes it will make one. It seems to fill the tray with water, then that's it. I took the front cover off the timer and it doesn't seem to be running. What is the black section in the red wire on the harness running to the icemaker unit? Could it be the harness or more likely the icemaker unit itself? Thanks for your input and help, Doug.
1 Answer Hello Doug! You will need to replace the icemaker assembly. Your part number is D7824706Q. Thanks. Read More...
