Questions & Answers

For Whirlpool Replacement Icemaker (Part Number: OEM12405033)

Hello Bob! If you can manually cycle the ice maker and the ice maker cycles, you will need to check the fill tube. Make sure that the fill tube is not frozen or has developed any leaks. If that is fine, replace the valve. You will need to check both the primary WP12544002 and secondary valve 12002193 on your unit to see which one is getting power and not letting water through. If the ice maker is not cycling then replace the ice maker part number D7824706Q. Hope this information helps!

Hello Dana. If the wire is not locking into the shut off position, you will need to replace the icemaker module 8201515 to fix the problem. You can reattach the wire arm and see if that helps the unit to shut off. Hope this helps.

Hello Regina. These are not to hard to do. Remove the ice bucket assembly. Then there are three screws holding the icemaker in place. Two on the top of the icemaker mold, and one under the bottom. Remove the screws and unplug the old icemaker. Reinstall in reverse order with the new icemaker. Hope this helps.

Hello Jamie. You will need to check and see if the icemaker is sending power to the valve. If there is no power there, but the water continues to run, you will need to replace the valve WP2315576. If there is power there, you will need to replace the icemaker. You can test this with a multi-meter MA-DM1. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html

Hello Rick. If the coating is coming off the icemaker, you will need to replace it. I would make sure the valve is not leaking. If it is good, then the icemaker should fix the problem. If the valve is bad, I would replace both parts, due to the coating issue. Hope this helps.

Hello Bill. Did you put the shut off arm off the old icemaker onto the new icemaker? The shut off arm, in the raised position, turns the icemaker off. When it is in the down position, the icemaker is on. If all of this is good, you will need to look and see if the fill tube is frozen, or if you have a bad water valve WP67005154. Hope this helps.
