Bubba Gt October 26, 2012 for Model Number MGS5770ADC The 110V broiler element does not work on my oven. I ordered a new element and replaced it and it still does not work. What else could be wrong?
1 Answer Bubba, You may have a broken or damaged blue or white wire to the element, or a faulty relay on the ERC / Clock WP5760M305-60. If you have access to a multimeter, you can remove the element, attach the meter leads to the wire terminals, and select a broil setting, you should read 120VAC across the wires, if not you'll need to check the wires for damage and breaks. Then check the E/BR terminal on the back of the ERC for 120 VAC to chassis ground when broil is selected, no 120 VAC would indicate a faulty relay and you'll need to replace the ERC. Read More...
Mr.O October 19, 2012 for Model Number maytag spark module 12001594 I am using this module in a different application .Is there a ground connection to this model ? What is the wiring for the output high voltage? Thank You ,MrO
1 Answer Mr.O, There is no ground circuit in the module. The burner electrode, is in essence the ground. thats how the spark is achieved to ignite the gas. When the voltage at the end of the electrode seeks to complete the circuit the burner cap and base act as the ground, and a spark occurs. The high voltage outputs on the module are the four 3/16 inch terminals across the top of the module. All four produce the same voltage at the same time, when power is applied to the module. Wesley R. October 19, 2012 for Model Number Jenn-Aire cooktop model number JGD8130ADS, serial 16812760EE The right rear burner does not spark at all. when any burner is turned to start, all of the burners spark but that one. I just replaced the right rear igniter and still no spark. What is the problem/part I need or....what do I have to do to find out? This is URGENT! I have sold the house and must fix this by Friday, October 26th, the act of sale date. PLEASE HELP
1 Answer Hello Wesley, You have either lost a ground or the start switch on the gas valve is bad. You didn't say definitely if the knob for that burner is making the other ignitors spark or not. If it isn't, the start switch WP74006955 is the issue. If the other ignitors are sparking when the bad burner valve is turned on, you have lost the ground to that ignitor. Read More...

Ly O. July 30, 2012 for Model Number Gas Stove Top Maytag MGC6430 When the knobs are turned to the off position, the starter sparks start clicking continuously on all 4 burners. So I unpluged the power cord overnight and the clicking stopped for several days, and it seems to fix the problem on 3 burners but the same clicking happens again on one of the burners. What part do I need to replace. Thanks, Ly
1 Answer Hello Ly, The first thing you should check for is a lost ground that could have been caused by a spill. You have to think "big picture" when doing this as many of the ground connections are where metal components of the unit are screwed together. The next thing to check is the start switch. The heat it is exposed to plus the possibility of spills getting into the start switch can cause a complete failure on a gas cooktop. The next thing I would suspect is the spark module. Read More...

Maytag Stove Owner July 19, 2012 for Model Number mgr5710adw The top 4 burners lite, the broiler lights, but when the stove is turned on, the igniter gets red hot but no gas is released or ignited. I tried to manually lite it but nothing. So what is the problem? The igniter, the gas valve? Please help, Thanks!
1 Answer Hello, The ignitor 74007498 should turn almost white hot. It can be tested with a clamp on amp meter. It should read from 3.2 to 3.6 amps. If this reading is low, the gas valve will never open and the flame cannot occur. If the proper current is present, the gas valve WP74006427 is the problem. Read More...
