Ed March 23, 2016 for Model Number KUDSO2SRWH2 Kitchen Aid door made loud noise and no longer has support. Called and was given part # AP3085283. When I clicked on this, the answer was "not compatible". This machine is 10 years old. Is the proper part still available? If yes, please let me know part number and if it is compatible. Thank you.
1 Answer Ed, This spring is the correct part number for your unit. It may be that in the model number you are putting a O before the 2 and it should be a 0. Read More...
Brian April 18, 2015 for Model Number WDF510PAYB6 The door is falling but it catches at the bottom so it doesn't slam. It's from the top till about the last 1/3rd before the door lays flat. Is this the springs?
1 Answer Brian, Yes this issue would most likely be that the spring may be in the wrong place or damaged. You will want to pull the unit out from under the cabinet and check the springs. Also check the bushing that the spring attaches to. Read More...
Gina August 14, 2014 for Model Number Kudio1FLSS6 We purchased a home with this dishwasher. The door has no resistance and comes slamming down if I let it. I assumed it needs a new spring. Is this correct or is there something else that could be wrong? Thanks.

Jpmamatrain March 31, 2013 for Model Number KUDP02CRBS0 We opened our dishwasher tonight, heard a pop and the door came crashing open. There is no longer resistance when opening and closing. I can't figure out which part(s) are broken and need to be ordered while it is installed. Do you have an idea what I should order in advance so that I only have to pull it out once? Are there corresponding installation instructions for those parts as well? thanks so much!
1 Answer Hello JPmamatrain. First you will need to uninstall the dishwasher and pull it out from the cabinets. Then check and see if the spring or the door link cable 8194001 is broken and needs to be replaced on the unit. Read More...
Handyjuani January 14, 2013 for Model Number kudi01flss6 When opening the dishwasher, the door slammed itself down and a small white plastic part broke off and fell on the floor. My guess is it came out from the the hole where the hinge is however I cant seem to find any part that looks like it in the parts catalog. My inital thought was the door balance link kit, but the part is very different. The broken picelooks like two popsickle sticks on top of each other but sepparated (and connected) near the top round edge bu a small plastic stub. Its about an inch and a half long before it bends into about a 120 degree V-shape where it actually snapped. Happy to send a picture of the part if it's of any help. Thanks in advance.
1 Answer Hello Handy juani, The part that you would need would be the door balance link kit. The part has been redesigned so it may look different but if you pull unit out you will probably find that this is what broke. Read More...
Rita July 05, 2012 for Model Number KUDP01FLSS3 I also encountered a loud pop on my KitchenAid dishwasher and the door crashing open. For my model do I need two springs and the link kit or new hinges? Thank you.
1 Answer Rita, inspect the door cables on the dishwasher door- there should be one on each side. Usually when these break it can cause a loud pop and the door will slam down when opened. Also check the mounts and the hinges to ensure they are not broken. If the door balance cable link is broken it will need to be replaced, part number is 8194001. Thanks! Read More...
1 Answer Hello Kelly. If you pull the dishwasher out, you should see the other spring WP8270182 to locate the hole. The manufacture does not specify the hole to place the spring into. It needs to be placed where there is tension on the spring for opening and closing the door. Hope this helps. Read More...
