Ed, This spring is the correct part number for your unit. It may be that in the model number you are putting a O before the 2 and it should be a 0.

Brian, Yes this issue would most likely be that the spring may be in the wrong place or damaged. You will want to pull the unit out from under the cabinet and check the springs. Also check the bushing that the spring attaches to.

Hello JPmamatrain. First you will need to uninstall the dishwasher and pull it out from the cabinets. Then check and see if the spring or the door link cable 8194001 is broken and needs to be replaced on the unit.

Handyjuani for Model Number kudi01flss6

When opening the dishwasher, the door slammed itself down and a small white plastic part broke off and fell on the floor. My guess is it came out from the the hole where the hinge is however I cant seem to find any part that looks like it in the parts catalog. My inital thought was the door balance link kit, but the part is very different. The broken picelooks like two popsickle sticks on top of each other but sepparated (and connected) near the top round edge bu a small plastic stub. Its about an inch and a half long before it bends into about a 120 degree V-shape where it actually snapped. Happy to send a picture of the part if it's of any help. Thanks in advance.

Hello Handy juani, The part that you would need would be the door balance link kit. The part has been redesigned so it may look different but if you pull unit out you will probably find that this is what broke.

Rita, inspect the door cables on the dishwasher door- there should be one on each side. Usually when these break it can cause a loud pop and the door will slam down when opened. Also check the mounts and the hinges to ensure they are not broken. If the door balance cable link is broken it will need to be replaced, part number is 8194001. Thanks!

Hello Kelly. If you pull the dishwasher out, you should see the other spring WP8270182 to locate the hole. The manufacture does not specify the hole to place the spring into. It needs to be placed where there is tension on the spring for opening and closing the door. Hope this helps.
