Dale May 30, 2018 for Model Number ARB2517CB Fridge clicks then buzzes then clicks. This repeats once to several times before the compressor starts. Still cold and using, but want to fix before to fails. I think it is the start relay since it still runs and cools, but looking for advice. Should I replace both the start relay and the run capacitor?
1 Answer Dale, First check to make sure you have the correct voltage at the outlet. Then check the voltage when the compressor starts, it needs to remain above 108 VAC. If the voltage is OK, then replace the W11039035 / W11039035 Start Device. The capacitor is part number WP65889-4 / WP65889-4 Run Capacitor. Both parts are in stock and available at this time. Rich G. September 29, 2012 for Model Number 59673502200 I have a Kenmore Elite. Theres a relay switch on the compressor. It clicks every couple of minutes and will not cool.
1 Answer Hello Rich, Test the compressor with an ohm meter. There are three terminals. Test from 1 to 2 and write down the reading. Test from 2 to 3 and write down the reading. Test from 1 to 3 and write down the results. Test from any of the three terminals to ground. To ground from any terminal should read no contact. The three test results you wrote down should be two numbers that will add together to be the third number. If any of this isn't true, the compressor has failed and the unit will require a sealed system repair. If all tests properly, the start device W11039035 has failed and will require replacement. Fzavarce March 15, 2011 for Model Number AP4079373 Which one capacitor need this model AP4079373 overload relay
Earl February 28, 2011 Item number AP4079373 has a very blurry image of the side that accepts the plug from the wiring harness. There is no way to confirm that the plug fits. Who can confirm whether or not the other item (AP4078361) will work. It is an identical match of my existing relay.
Earl February 27, 2011 I have an Amana fridge model ABC2037DES and my relay looks like the diagram for WHIRLPOOL AP4078361; however, AppliancePartPros search recommends part AP4079373. Question: will AP4078361 work on my fridge? I don't want to have to cut wires and jury rig electrical contacts.
1 Answer You will need to use W10613606 according to your model number. You shouldn't have to cut any wires for this relay. Read More...
