Brian, You will want to make sure that the hub is screwed to the spray arm. The hub should come up through the spray arm and screw to the spray arm. If it will not then check the threading on the hub and on the spray arm.

Hello Salvador, Hold the center piece and unscrew the spray arm. The top of the feed tube will unclip from the back and top for removal. Remove the water feed tube by turning it clockwise about 1/8 turn. The lower spray arm hub will then lift out.

Hello Joe. Pump motor seized up (will not turn). 1. Unplug dishwasher or disconnect power. 2. After accessing chopper system, verify rotation of impeller by rotating chopper blade. Rotation should require only moderate force. If rotation is difficult or not possible, replace pump and motor assembly. Pump motor windings open, or loose/open connection in wash pump circuit. 1. Unplug dishwasher or disconnect power. 2. Check the resistances of pump motor windings and all connections in the wash circuit, including the pump motor start capacitor. Door switch not making contact consistently: ¦ Faulty or sloppy door latch assembly (which can be aggravated by high door closure force, keeping strike plate from fully seating). ¦ Faulty door switch (high resistance). NOTE: Neutral switch on plastic tub models is only in series with motor and heater; other loads are not affected. 1. Unplug dishwasher or disconnect power. 2. Measure resistance of door switch contacts while checking mechanical operation of latch assembly. Confirm switches not loose from assembly. Check strike plate and door closure. Damaged motor start capacitor. 1. Unplug dishwasher or disconnect power. 2. Disconnect capacitor leads and confirm capacitance is as labeled on part; or check resistance for open circuit across the terminals. Replace if open.

Mike, Here's some basic help "Remove the two (2) dishracks from the dishwasher tub. Remove the two (2) screws securing the Inner Feed Tube to the inside of the dish washer tub. Rotate the rear feed cap ¼ turn clockwise. The entire inner water tube assembly and the lower spray arm assembly can now be removed from the dishwasher tub. Remove the four (4) screws securing the soil accumulator from the sump base. The soil accumulator will now lift free of the sump base. Remove the screw securing the foreign objects protector to the sump base and remove the protector.Remove the screw securing the inlet protector to the pump base and lift the inlet protector out. Remove the chopper assembly from the impeller shaft and lift it from the sump base. The check valve, located between the wash motor and the drain can be removed with a pair of needle nose pliers. With the wash motor removed, the separation screen can be removed from the sump base." A small "shop vac" works very well for removing the glass and water. Thanks

Ann for Model Number KUDS01ILBT1

The dishwasher has starting leaving tiny particles that are very gummy on all items in the dishwasher. They appear as small particles of food, but when I try to rub these particles off by hand, they clearly have a gummy or sticky base that "smears" a sticky streak on the dishes and items have to be soaked, hand-washed, and scrubbed to get this residue off. I've run cleaners and even vinegar through the machine, and there were no indications of anything buidling up that I can see in the machine. I have been unable to get the knob on the hub of the lower spray arm to release so that I can look inside. I have always rinsed dishes (effectively clean when they go into the machine)and this is a sudden problem that developed this week. Any ideas what would cause a gummy residue of very small particles (look like some kind of old food I am guessing)? And, how do I get the hub to release so that I can access the screen, chopper blade, and other areas inside to see if a seal or something has gotten "chewed" up and is causing this residue? Thanks.

Ann, Make sure the water temperature in the bottom of the tub after the first fill cycle is at least 120 dgrs.F. Also make sure the water level in the tub is in contact with the bottom of the heating element. Also check and make sure you're using the proper amount of detergent based on the instructions on the box. We're sending you some more information that should be helpful. Thanks

Hi Kevin. Is your water manifold that delivers the water supply to each spray arm intact to the rear wall correctly? Is the separate manifold probes going into the manifold holes? Also look at the not - selected hole and make sure that whole is shut wit the flap. The manifold probe part # is WPW10082831. Are the spray arms turning freely? Is the manifold plugged into the pump / motor assembly? Remove all racks. Unscrew the Phillip's screw in the middle bossed area of the manifold. Remove the manifold by unclasping it from the top of the Accumulator assembly. Then there are top 3 - screws that hold it onto the pump assembly. Cleaning it out will help drastically. Use Glisten dishwasher cleaner monthly to keep it all cleaned. Glisten part # is W10549845. Hope this helps. Thank you.
