The infinite switch is an OEM replacement part for Whirlpool cooktops. Located inside the panel it helps monitor temperature and functions through sensing heating elements and bake cycles. Precise cooking depends on its calibrated feedback.

Causes of a faulty cooktop interface switch include wire damage from heat exposure, excess baked-on residue insulating contacts, or repeated temperature fluctuations degrading components.

Symptoms include:

  • Inability to preheat or maintain set cooking temperatures
  • Failure to advance cycles or randomly turning off
  • Error messages flashing on the control panel

This OEM part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore models.

Mark H for Model Number S156 with new replacement cartridges

This is an older model Jenn-Air. Replaced the coil burner and grill with flat glass cartridges. The cartridge for the double burner works fine. The cartridge that replaces the grill does work with the following issues: - the control for the large burner activates the burner but does not allow modulation. It's always on high. - the control for the small burner activates both burners with the same problem of modulation. Both burners are on high and turning the knob to low heat makes no difference. As I noted, the cartridge on the left side works fine and when I exchange the two the problem is the same.

Hello Clem! There are four burner switches on your product that the manufacture lists as part number R0702021. The only other switch is the fan switch 0042048 which has been discontinued with no replacements or cross references available. Thanks.
