Mark H for Model Number S156 with new replacement cartridges This is an older model Jenn-Air. Replaced the coil burner and grill with flat glass cartridges. The cartridge for the double burner works fine. The cartridge that replaces the grill does work with the following issues: - the control for the large burner activates the burner but does not allow modulation. It's always on high. - the control for the small burner activates both burners with the same problem of modulation. Both burners are on high and turning the knob to low heat makes no difference. As I noted, the cartridge on the left side works fine and when I exchange the two the problem is the same.
Answer Hello Mark. It sounds like one of the switches W11120791 is bad and will need to be replaced. Check and see which switch has sticking contacts. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3.
