Rob Z August 02, 2014 for Model Number RF262LXSQ0 The right front burner of our Whirlpool range is no longer functioning. For a long time the burner would run on high, no matter what heat temperature setting we had it on. Now it no longer works. I suspect the switch is at fault here, but I am not sure if I need an "infinite switch" or "surface switch". And your site says the switch you need to purchase depends on whether it is for a large or small "unit". Does it mean large or small "element?". Sorry for the multiple questions. The switch that I pulled has part number 3148954. Everywhere I look, seems like the description for this part is for an 8 inch burner. My burner seems to be slightly larger than 8inch. All parts I see being suggested is 3149400. Is this right? It is for the front right single burner (the bigger one).

The front left big burner only works on high and only even if you try to set it on low and also it dosent work at all when set on dual. When in single it works like it should as dual but only at the highest setting. Could you let me know what the problem could be? Do I need to get a new burner or is it a switch that I could replace?
