This water level pressure switch senses air pressure from the tub and signals the control to stop filling at the correct level. Replacing a weak or failed switch restores proper filling, helps prevent over/underfilling, and allows cycles to advance.

  • Monitors tub water level via the pressure hose and sends the level signal to the control
  • Stops water flow at the target level so wash, rinse, and spin can begin
  • Common symptoms of a failing switch: continuous filling, overfilling or underfilling, cycle won't advance past fill/sensing, or stops with water still in the tub
  • A cracked, kinked, or blocked pressure hose can mimic switch failure—inspect during diagnosis
What's included: 1 water level pressure switch Install notes:
  • Disconnect power and turn off water supply before servicing
  • Access the switch from the console/top or rear panel per your model; note wire orientation
  • Transfer and firmly seat the pressure hose; inspect it for kinks, cracks, or blockages and replace if damaged
  • After installation, run a fill test; some models may require a diagnostic calibration—see the tech sheet or user manual

For Whirlpool Water Level Pressure Switch (Part Number: OEM20943129)

Cindy for Model Number MHWZ600TB01 EPIC Z MAYTAG FRONTLOAD WASHER

I turned off the washer and pressed start the add garment light goes on and the door locks and it spins over once - then the door unlocks and it goes off. I repeated this process several times and sometimes it just clicks twice and the lights on front panel stay on along with the add garment light then door unlocks and it turns off. Water had leaked out of the door area and it did not finish the load just stopped working?? Any suggestions on what is going on or what parts I need to fix this problem?

Cindy, Do you not have a failure/error code in the display ? one of two things has occurred; One of the switches of the door lock assembly has failed and is not sending the circuit to the CCU, or The CCU is not seeing the circuit. The ewasher control does not think the door has not been opened or closed, between cycles. WPW10525358 and WPW10253483 would be the place to start. Good Luck and Thanks

Hello Cindy. You will need to check and see if the door is locking properly. If not, you will need to replace the latch assembly WPW10253483. If the latch is not working properly, the unit will not fill or wash or spin out. Hope this helps.

Russ, You're sure the tub is draining completely ? if thats correct, then yes, check the water level switch and the air dome hose for clogs and kinks W11417619 and W11252474 . If the water level switch is not indicating an empty tub, the door won't unlock, if there is air restricted in the air dome hose, it can cause the "SD" (sudsing) code, because there too much pressure in the hose, if it's restricted. Good Luck and Thanks

Thanks for info on looking elsewhere. I did locate the small tube from the water pressure tube and blew on it and could hear the water bubbling. Checked the waste hoses and cound not see any blockage. No ,ore gunk in the hoses or filter. It then pumped very slowly about 1/3 gallon of water out then back to F21 error. I can hear the water gurgling like the pump operates a bit, but usually no wter comes out. How do I check the impeller, to see if it has seized up or detached from the input shaft? I can feel it with my finger and it is clear on either side. Thanks

Scott, The water level switch is located inside the control panel, but thats not your problem. The water level switch controls the water into the washer, not out of the washer. You will need to remove the cabinet and top, to access the drain pump, remove the hoses and check the pump and both hoses for clogs, and the impeller, to see if it has seized up or detached from the input shaft. Good Luck and Thanks

Hello Karen. Based on the model number you provided, W11417619 is the correct pressure switch. If the unit is giving an F21 code and SD code, you will need to replace the pressure switch. Make sure the pressure hose is not broke or has come off. If it is good, replace the pressure switch. Hope this helps.
