Bernie S. November 06, 2017 for Model Number LSQ9549PW2 Will not stop washing or if I put it on spin it will not stop.
1 Answer Hello Bernie, You should check the timer motor to see if it has gone open. If so, the timer WP8557301 will need to be replaced. If not and connections are good you will need to verify 120Vac to the timer motor and neutral to it also. This can be caused by a poor electrical connection, by a bad timer contact, or a failed ATC switch WP8564140. Read More...
Terence August 29, 2017 for Model Number LSQ9550PW4 My washer fills up with water but it won't wash and the water want drain out. What could cause this?
1 Answer Hello Terence, This can be caused by a bad lid switch WP8318084 or a bad pressure switch W10337780. You can use a test meter TJMA-DMT3 to determine which is causing the issue. Read More...
Glen November 26, 2016 for Model Number Whirpool washing machine model #LLN8233BQO I believe I need a new timer assembly. The water won't drain out when using the regular cycle but it will when using the perm press, etc. It might work also on the regular cycle if we "mess with" the knob. If I buy another timer assembly I don't see how to get this one off? I don't see how to pull the knob off nor unscrew it? When I try to unscrew it the whole thing turns & won't unscrew. (I don't want to force it & break it worse?) :) Thank you.
1 Answer Glen, The timer would be the most likely issue with this problem. To replace the timer there is a screw at the front side corner of the control panel that will need removed to lift the control panel and access the timer. The knob is a screw on type knob and you would want to pull the timer knob out and then get ahold of the knob with a pair of needle nose pliers and rotate the knob counter clockwise to remove. Greg September 30, 2014 for Model Number LSR5233aw0 My machine fills and washes but stops without emtying or spinning in all cycles from normal to perm. press. The timer dial stops before the spin cycle and does not complete the rotation. Do I need a lid switch or the timer ? Thanks Greg
1 Answer Hello Greg. It sounds like a lid switch issue. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Rudolf S July 13, 2014 for Model Number LSR5233AW0 Please provide detailed removal, and installation information.
1 Answer Rudolf, To remove the knob, it will unscrew from the timer. For the timer to be removed, you will want to remove a screw from the endcap on the back of the unit from both sides. Once removed you will slide the bottom of the panel forward and up. Once this is done you will disconnect the wiring and connect to the new timer. Remove the screw holding the timer in place and slide the timer over and out. Install the new timer and reassemble the unit. Read More...
Frank June 07, 2014 for Model Number LSR7233BNO I would like to know the procedures for replacing the timer and knob on my Whirlpool Washer. I need to replace the timer its only working intermittently. thks
Micky April 06, 2014 for Model Number Lsv6233awo. Whirlpool washer continually runs in every cycle without shutting off. Also water is leaking under machine during use. Could the water leak be from the washer continually running?
1 Answer Mickey, The unit continuously running even when it hits the off position would be a faulty timer 285938. For the leaking issue you will want to determine exactly where the leak is originating from. Check to make sure that the pressure hose has not come loose from the tub. Also check to makes sure that the leak is not around the transmission post as there could be a bad center post seal. Read More...
David R. March 06, 2014 for Model Number Whirlpool Thin Twin, model LTE6234AN1 I ordered a new timer from AppliancePartsPros. But the screws that attach the new timer to the washer panel definitely do not fit. The problem is that the screw-holes on the new timer have no threads to accommodate screws. The holes are just smooth smooth metal inside. I tried to force a screw into a hole and all I managed to do was shear the threads off the end of the screw. So it is not possible to attach the new timer. So, where do I get a timer model with screw threads? Here is a picture of the problem- https://app.box.com/shared/static/qpto7fxku16bqov1pl31.jpg
1 Answer David, The screws that come with the part should be used as they are self tapping screws. You will want to drive them into the timer before installing as it will be difficult to install otherwise. Once you have them preset then you can take them out and install the timer into the unit.
