Hi Mark. If your dryer shuts off when the door opens then your switch may be OK. If not then you need switch part # WP3406107. Your timer may have taken a power surge during a storm. This will internally short out the contacts. The timer is part # WP8299778. Thank you.

Katherine, thats a good indication you've got a clogged exhaust vent system or filter /blower housing. A quick ,easy test is to run the dryer with vent disconnected at the wall, if it advances you know you have a clogged vent system. Good Luck

Hi Craig. You will want to make sure that the dryer vent is clear from any obstructions. If the vent is clean, you will want to test the thermostat. The two large terminals will be closed, and the two small ones should ohm out around 250 ohms. You also need to check and make sure you have 240 volts coming to the dryer. Thanks!

Teunis, As stated before, re check and make sure you wired the new timer correctly. From there you'll need to start checking the wire harness for shorts to the cabinet or chassis ground causing 120 VAC to the heater assembly, and causing a partial circuit and the heater to be energized all the time. Good Luck.
