  • Requires manual advancing of the knob to finish a cycle when failing

  • Disconnect power before servicing; shut off water supply if the appliance uses water
  • Access the control panel; note or photograph wire positions before removal
  • Transfer any mounting hardware and the knob/shaft components from the original timer as required

Peter, You will want to test to see if there is voltage going to the water valve after the spin cycle. If there is then the timer would most likely be the cause for the unit putting water in.

Henry for Model Number Kenmore 110.29832800

Hello, I have a Kenmore 110.29832800 washer that isn't filling with water and agitating on the wash cycle. However, it does fill on the "bulk" load rinse cycle. On all other loads it's not filling with water. I am assuming door switch is ok. Since, it does work normally, but only on the Rinse portion of the Bulk Load. Furthermore, I initially replaced the water valve thinking that's what was wrong. That didn't help. Any thoughts on what it could be? Timer? Pressure/Sensor switch? Please help.

Henry, Most likely the issue will be with the temperature control switch WPW10179666. This switch is electronic and if faulty will cause issues with the filling of the unit.

Joe, The timer is a good guess, and could be the issue, but you need to check or replace the water sensor switch WPW10292584 and check the air tube WP353244 for twists kinks and debris( disconnect the hose from the switch assembly, and blow in the hose.) The sensor switch and air tube hose, tell the timer when the tub has reached the water level, and to start the agitation. If the switch has a faulty circuit or the hose is restricted it can create the scenario you're describing.

Hello Gustavo. If the unit fills a little then stops, you may have a bad water valve WPW10175893 and the valve will need to be replaced. Check and make sure the screens on the valve or hoses are not clogged.
