Gary November 15, 2016 for Model Number KSRS25IKSS1 No Ice. Replaced both sensors, water valve assembly, entire ice maker unit. Fill line not frozen its clear. Water fine ti unit. Would the adaptive defrost control be the problem?
1 Answer Gary, The adaptive defrost control board would not cause the unit to make ice unless there is an issue with the unit not defrosting. You would have temperature issues if that is the case. You will want to make sure that the fill tube is not frozen on the unit which would be the most likely cause with all other parts being replaced. Read More...
Jim May 01, 2016 for Model Number Whirlpool ED25PW Opened the refrigerator door and the lights were off. The same with the freezer. Everything seemed to be running. The next day refrigerator was warmer and ice in the bin had melted and ran down the door and refroze. Moved everything to another refrigerator and unplugged the unit. The next day I plugged it back in and lights were back on. Later they were off and unit had not cooled down much. Does the adc have anything to do with the lights?
Chazz December 04, 2015 for Model Number ED2PHEXMQ00 While I was working, my son informs me that the power went out briefly in our house. Just a little while later he noticed the ice in the freezer was starting to melt. The unit does not cool or freeze anything at this point. From reading posts here it seems the ADC board needs replacement. Which boards are compatible with my unit? Will the 4388931 work just as well as the 4388932?
1 Answer Hello Chazz, You would need to replace the 4388932 since this unit does not have a defrost timer. Read More...
June November 13, 2015 for Model Number 10659587990 have kenmore 106 fridge with deforst problem. i ve checked the continuity of the heating coil which showed good on test. the continuity test for the thermostat showed that it is bad. which i then ordered the replacement. my question is, how do i check for the adaptive defrost control while thermostat is bad? my defrost control doesnt have manual dial which i can turn it on and off. it has a button which it says hold it for 60 seconds to switch into defrost and out. i ve try several times to hold the bottom to turn on to the defrost cycle but it wouldn't work.
1 Answer June, There are a couple of procedures to force the defrost cycle on your refrigerator. 1.) a,Remove power to the refrigerator for at least 30 seconds. b, Turn thermostat off. c, Restore power to the refrigerator. 2.) a, Turn thermostat off for 15 seconds. b, Turn thermostat on for 5 seconds (REPEAT STEPS a and b TWO(2) MORE TIMES.) 3.) Turn thermostat off. In 3 to 10 seconds the control should turn on the defrost heater, the heater will turn on for 21 minutes or until the defrost thermostat opens. Read More...
Andrew August 06, 2015 for Model Number 106.57022602 The coils in the back of the freezer freeze up every few days. I cleaned out the bottom and back of the fridge and the fans are running in both the bottom and back of the freezer. I have check for continuity on the defroster and it shows zero. I have ordered the defrost thermostat. If that doesn't fix the problem what is next? Also, when I thawed the coils I used a heat gun and got some smoke from the electrical box. Did I fry something?
1 Answer Hello Andrew. You need to check and see if you melted a wire and shorted out the board 4388932 in the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Bill August 05, 2015 for Model Number 10651599010 Kenmore side by side with cold freezer compartment, warm refrigerator compartment. No ice on evaporator coils and the fan works fine. I examined the damper control and it is in working order. When I open the refrigerator and put my hand over the damper outlet, I can't feel any air flowing from the freezer box. If I also open the freezer door, cold air immediately begins blowing through the damper outlet into the refrigerator side (as I suspect it should when the freezer door is closed). I might be way off base, but all I can think of is that the path for cold air to return to the freezer box from the refrigerator box is somehow blocked or obstructed, but I can't see where the air returns to the freezer box. Or maybe it's something else I'm not thinking of. Any suggestions? Thank you.
1 Answer Hello Bill. The return is behind the drawers in the bottom on the divider wall. You need to check it and see if it is blocked. Read More...
Kevin July 18, 2015 for Model Number ED2KHAXVQ01 We had a power outage and I turned off the main and connected a generator. My electrician stated that my extension whip had a crossed wire with a neutral and a hot. The refrigerator lights are all on in the two doors, but the right side refrigerator is not cold, and the lower freezer is just cooling enough to freeze. The ice maker will not work either. Is the computer board above the control panel inside what I need to replace?
1 Answer Hello Kevin, Since you had an electrical issue in the power supply there is a very good possibility of damage to the control. The issue can be the ADC 4388932 or the main board WPW10259855. Read More...
