Stuart January 01, 2013 for Model Number LSB6500PW2 My washer will not advance after the agitation cycle. If I push the timer in and pull it back out it advances. Does it sound like the timer?
Rockinrobin November 12, 2012 for Model Number LSQ9659LW0 The Timer will not advance once it gets to the 8 Minute Mark during Agitation on the Casual/Perm Press Cycle. However, Timer will advance after I move it manually to the 6 Minute Mark and it also works fine on the Normal Cycle. Both wire harnesses are connected to the Timer. Therefore, should I try an Electrical Contact Cleaner to spray on the Wire Harness & Terminal Pins?
1 Answer Hi. Unless the contacts are dirty or wet, then do not use electrical spray. The timer internal cams are stuck shut not allowing the advance of time increments. Replace the timer part # WP3955765. Thank You. Read More...
Don B July 05, 2012 for Model Number GST9679PW1 when running GFI breaker in laundry room blows. GFI in main panel does not. Happens when Dryer is on. Usually stops when timer is in same spot, but not always. Just stopped now. I pulled plug and reset GFI. Still not working. Sometimes this works and sometimes moving dial on timer would work with moving timer. Did work when I moved timer to spin, but I stopped machine and reset timer to same place it failed and would blow circuit breaker.
1 Answer Don, It could be a timer issue, but you should eliminate the other possibilities first. Will the washer work properly, when the dryer is not operating ? What is the amperage rating for the GFI receptacle? What other components or appliances are on the same GFI circuit ? It's more likely that there is enough draw on the power supply / circuit, to cause the GFI circuit to trip when the motor amperage increases when the motor starts. Thanks Read More...
Howard June 30, 2012 for Model Number LSB6500 How do I check to see if the lid switch on my Whirlpool Washer is good?
1 Answer Hello Howard. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. It should read closed with the lid closed on the unit. Test across the red and black wire on the lid switch WP8054980. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Howard June 29, 2012 for Model Number LSB6500 99% of the time, the washer does not spin. Could the problem be caused by a faulty timer control?
1 Answer Hello Howard. Yes, the timer can prevent spinning and also the lid switch WP8054980 can. You need to check and make sure the lid switch is good on the unit. Read More...
Gw December 09, 2011 for Model Number LSQ9659PW2 After power outage, my washer would not fill, although the agitate and spin cycles were fine. I replace the temp switch which was burned out. Now the water fills, and will only stop when tub is filled. On the spin cycle, the water turns back on after the water level falls (so the tub never drains). Also, when I push the tumer knob in, the water does not stop filling either. Any ideas?
1 Answer Hi GW. When the washer fills and stops, it is a defective lid switch that will not allow it to start. Lid switch part # WP8318084. Check the drain hose and make sure it is not any further in the standpipe more than 4-1/2 ". It may be that you are siphoning over and over. The unit was sent with the drain hose that you loop over and then install into the standpipe. The standpipe needs to be at least 36" high and no higher than 96". Thank You. Read More...
1 Answer Thomas, It could be the timer, but you need to check the lid switch and wiring first WP8054980 . Thanks and Good Luck Read More...
Frontrunner August 28, 2011 for Model Number LSQ9110PW2 Hello, I had asked a question on another part I identified to be the problem,(Switch-WL) but the more I read about the timer. Its a Whirlpool LSQ9110PW2. The more I think this could be our problem. The load was running fine up to the rinse cycle. When it hit the rinse cycle it just hangs and no water runs in. I can reset everything and try to start back at a new wash but it still wont do anything but a slow agitate waiting for water to rinse before another spin. It is stuck in this mode even if I try different temperature settings. Is it possible the timer is bad? Thanks
1 Answer Hi Frontrunner. If The machine stops filling at the rinse cycles, then you will need to replace the water valve part # is WP3979346. Check the fill hoses and flush them out in a bucket. Look at the cold water incoming screen to see if it is clogged with sediment as the hot water sediment will fall into the bottom of the water heater. The cold water sediment will collect in the cold side sinks filter screens. Thank you. Read More...
Ron L. August 19, 2011 for Model Number LSQ9659PWZ When the washer is in the "normal" mode the tub will not spin when it gets to the spin cycle. If the timer is plcaed in any other setting(perm. press or delicates)for spin it spins the tub. Is this a timer/control malfunction? And how hard is it to replace the timer/control?
1 Answer Hello Ron. Based on the information you provided, it sounds like the timer WP3955765 is bad and will need to be replaced. These are not hard to replace. Remove the screws in the back corners of the control panel and pull the control panel forward and flip it backwards. Next, pull out on the tab in the center of the back of the timer and pull the knob off the timer. Release the clip and slide the timer out of the control panel. Unplug the wires going to the timer, and reinstall with the new timer in reverse order. Hope this helps. Read More...
Larry May 21, 2011 for Model Number LSQ9659PW4 At the end of the wash cycle and before it drains to go to the spin cycle it goes into a pause. Sometimes it never comes out of the pause and will stay there for 15 minutes or more. To get it to start again I try different things. Sometimes just opening and closing the lid will get it to start. Other times I have to push in and then pull out the timer control knob. So far it has always started again when I do either of those two things. Any idea what may be wrong?
1 Answer Hello Larry. If you can raise and lower the lid to start it, you will need to check and see if the lid switch WP8318084 is broke. If so, you will need to replace the lid switch. Hope this helps. Read More...
