Danny September 15, 2012 for Model Number ETW4400WQ0 This is a Whirlpool Estate Washer. When you pull out the on switch to start it nothing happens. It won't start and the lid is closed. What could be wrong with it?
1 Answer Hello Danny. You need to test for power to the water valve. If there is no power there, either the pressure switch or the control board is bad and will need to be replaced. If there is power there, you may have no water coming to the unit or the screens in the hoses may be clogged. Read More...
Robert S. September 09, 2012 for Model Number ATW4475XQO Admiral, only 9 mos old. Does all wash cycles fine. Water levels and temps fine. Then, beginning rinse cycle, agitator starts, it begins to squirt water in for about 10 seconds and then water stops, but the agitator keeps going. Workaround: Rotate timer back to wash, wait until it fills with selected temperature water, rotate to rinse and let it finish that way. What's wrong?
1 Answer Hi Robert. Make sure you remove the supply hoses and clean the water valve inlet screens. This may be impeding the water fill. Water valve part # WPW10144820.Your type of timer has a individual small white connector on the backside of the timer. This connection internally to the timer had connection issues originally. It was corrected and upgraded with this timer part # WPW10199989. Thank You. Read More...

Rip March 19, 2012 for Model Number rtw4440vq1 Washer starts and runs fine, until it gets halfway through the rinse cycle. As soon as it starts to drain the tub, the agitator acts like it wants to turn but then stops. If I open the lid and shut it again it will take off like it's supposed to. Tried by-passing the lid switch but that didn't work. Replaced the timer and it still does it. Any ideas what I should try next? Thank you.
1 Answer Hello Rip. If the timer is new, you will need to check and make sure the clutch assembly 285785 is good on the unit. If not, it will cause the unit to act like this. If the clutch is good, then the motor may be the issue. Hope this helps. Read More...

Beth September 08, 2011 for Model Number Kenmore 400 top-loading washer machine (2942) The washer will stop during the cycle, usually right before or at the rinse point and just shut off. I can press in the timer knob and rotate the knob around to restart the cycle from after the "rinse" point. When I do this, the water starts to fill the empty tub again and continues normally without any stopping. Is this a timer issue?
1 Answer Hello Beth. Based on the information you provided, it does sounds like the timer WPW10199989 is bad and will need to be replaced. Hope this helps. Read More...
Daniel August 16, 2011 for Model Number ETW4400WQ Estate washer My washing machine is taking longer to finish a load every time it is used. What could cause that? Could that be timer related? Or lid switch?
1 Answer Hi Daniel. If all else is working properly then you need to check the water supply valves. Take your hoses off and put them in a bucket one by one and see if you have good pressure. If the water is restricted (especially cold side)then it will take longer and longer to fill /rinse each time. Look on the back of your water valve and see if the screens are clogged. The water valve is part # WPW10144820. Thank you. Read More...
