  • Controls timing and sequencing for fill, agitate, drain, and spin operations
  • Switches power to the motor, pump, and water valves as each step advances
  • Advances the cycle knob/dial through each phase
  • Can also help with skipping rinse/spin or a dial that's hard to turn

What's included: 1 timer assembly Install notes:

  • Disconnect power before servicing
  • Remove the console/panel; pull off the knob and dial as needed to access the timer
  • Transfer wires one at a time from the old timer to the new; mount and secure the timer
  • Reassemble, restore power, and run a short cycle to verify operation

For Whirlpool Timer (Washer) (Part Number: OEM18019107)

Dianne for Model Number MAV7700AWW

I have a Maytag Atlantis, I've had it for about 12 years. Recently I filled it to wash and after it filled it wont do anything else! I had a repair man out that told me it was the timer, and that it would cost $240.00, and if it were him he wouldn't fix it but he had a washer/dryer set at his shop he'd sell me for $300.00 I got on your site to see if I could find the part and you have it for $83 so now I'm doubting the man that came out how do I know if it's even the timer thats bad? Thanks

Hi Diane. The lid switch is part # WP22003804. When the unit fills then stops you need to replace it. If at first you need to check it then the two terminals next to the plunger should read closed with the lid closed. If they are open, the switch is bad. Also the terminal next to the plunger and the third terminal should read closed with the lid closed. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. You remove the back cover and lift the lid as then you pull (slide) the switch out and up. It has grooves in the top of the cabinet that the switch guides itself into while installing. Thank You.

Hello Jake. You will need to check and make sure the lid switch WP22003804 is good on the unit. See if the washer does the spin cycle after the wash cycle befor rinse. If not, and the timer advances through both spin cycles, the lid switch may be the problem on the unit. If the timer spins the first, but not the last, it sounds like the timer WP22003499 may need to be replaced on the unit. Hope this helps.

James, No the timer/load control is not the issue. The issue is in the drive system, the thrust bearing assembly most likely 12002213 and you may want to consider a new drive belt WP22003483 . You will need to raise the front of the washer or lay it on its back to access the components, and the thrust bearing kit comes with instructions. Thanks and good Luck

Gene, First check and make sure the tub is completely empty at the end of each spin cycle, if the tub drains proper, check the water level switch and air dome hose for clogs in the tube and the switch to reset to "empty" before you replace the timer. Thanks and Good Luck

Here are some steps on removing the timer. Hope this helps. Unplug the Maytag washer from the wall outlet. The control panel will need to be removed to access the timer. Three screws mount the control panel hood assembly located on top of the control panel. Remove the mounting screws with a screwdriver, and pull the hood forward. Carefully remove the bottom of the hood assembly from the clips in the top panel of the dryer. Remove the timer knob from the timer shaft. Pull the knob on the inside of the timer out to release the knob. After removing the knob, remove the outside skirt. Use a screwdriver to remove the two screws that hold the timer to the control panel. Disconnect the wiring harness from the timer by pressing in on the plastic locking tab and pulling the harness away from the timer.
