Paykat4 for Model Number MDE7400AYW

Our Maytag dryer will not shut off either in the timed setting or in the sensor setting. We had a repairman come out and look at it back in December (yep, we are still trying to get him to come back and fix this) and he FINALLY replaced the sensor assembly and chime, but it still does not shut off in either setting. We called your 800 number and was told to try the timer or sensor bar....do you have any help for us? We just have no idea what to do. It seems that the more loads we do in a day the longer it takes to dry a load (three hours and counting for this last load of towels)! Maybe this is a side issue (taking longer and longer to dry the loads), but we don't know. Any help you have would be appreciated! :)

Hello Paykat4. It sounds like the unit is not heating, or the vent is clogged. Check and make sure you have 240 volts coming to the dryer. Check and make sure the unit is not set to Air Fluff. Also check the heater and thermostats and see if they are good. You can test these with a multi-meter MA-DM1. They should read closed for continuity. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html

Ridgeline, you have the correct part number (33002803) WP33002803 for the serial number you supplied. the electronic dry control board part number is (33002905) 33002905 If these are the parts installed , then we need to start looking at the neutral supply to and in the dryer especially at the sensor board connector.

Ridgeline, A couple of things to check first, Make sure you are orderring the correct part number(s) based on the series number. ( first two numbers in the serial number) or cross reference the part numbers of the original part(s). Make sure there is a "neutral" circuit at the terminal block and the white wire on the dryness control board. The dryness control, switches the neutral circuit to the timer motor, if there is an issue in the wiring, or you have the incorrect parts installed, you'll have irratic operation of the timer.
