The Washer Drain Pump Assembly is an OEM part for Whirlpool washing machines. This assembly is essential for the washer's ability to drain water out of the drum after the wash and rinse cycles, ensuring clothes are properly spun and not left soaking wet.

Causes of a malfunctioning washer drain pump assembly can include blockages from small items or debris, such as coins, socks, or lint, that accidentally make their way into the pump.

Symptoms of a bad Washer Drain Pump Assembly include:

  • Water not draining out of the washer, leaving clothes wet
  • Unusual noises coming from the pump area, indicating a blockage or damage
  • The washer stopping mid-cycle due to inability to drain
  • Error codes displayed on the washer related to draining issues

This OEM Whirlpool part can also be used on Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore/Sears brand appliances.

For Whirlpool Washer Drain Pump Assembly (Part Number: OEM11860929)

Vince for Model Number WFW9600TA001

I replaced the main control board due to an original problem with the suds error. I also replaced the analog pressure switch. The washer runs all cycles fine, with the exception of the cleaning cycle . When this cycle is started, the drain pump continues to run, and the cycle will not progress beyond that. So I returned the new Control board, and replaced it with a second. I still have this issue. Any ideas? I can't find a solution this issue anywhere.

Vince, You will want to check the following for the suds error: Possible Causes/Procedure If too much detergent was used: Run through a RINSE/SPIN cycle. Run a NORMAL cycle without adding any detergent. This should clear the unit of the excess detergent. Check the drain hose and make sure it is not plugged or kinked. Unplug washer or disconnect power. Check wire harness connections to the drain pump, pressure switch, and Central Control Unit (CCU). Check/clean drain pump fi lter of foreign objects. Plug in washer or reconnect power. Check drain pump. Check the pressure switch. Verify CCU operation by running a Diagnostic Test or any cycle.

Hello Kass, This can be caused by low water pressure to the unit from the home water supply or a failed water inlet valve.

Possible Causes/Procedure 1. Check for continuity of the User Interface harness. 2. Check wire harness connections to the User Interface and the Central Control Unit. 3. Replace User Interface if drum is rotating. 4. Replace Central Control Unit if drum is not moving.

Dan, The part number for the drain pump is 00436440/00436440, the post information would indicate the impeller in the pump has become detached from the motor shaft and is not rotating when the motor runs.

Craig, You'll need to replace the water inlet valve WP8181694 and hose washers, The water is seeping around the diaphragm in the valve and causing the tub to fill with water when off. Replacing the door latch assembly, has nothing to do with the fill valve, it's just a coincidence.
