Michael January 26, 2015 Hi I just replaced my drain pump on my front loader maytag but the water still isn't draining all the time. The drain hoses are clear too. Do you have any other ideas that might be wrong. Thank you
1 Answer Hello Michael. Either the control board is bad or the wiring on the unit is bad. You will need to check both of them. Read More...

1 Answer Bruce, The plastic ball in the tub to pump hose on a Whirlpool front load washer acts as a anti syphon device. If there is a drain issue and the drain backs up into the washer the ball will reduce or eliminate the amount of water that backs up into the wash tub. It also helps to reduce the odor from the drain system also called "stack gas". Read More...

Bill November 02, 2014 for Model Number mfw97005q1 Can I replace the pump motor without replacing the rest of the housing?
John M September 22, 2014 My Whirlpool Duet Sport is not draining. I checked the pump and all the lines and there don"t appear to be any blockages. Pump is running and appears to be creating suction (drain pipe from tube gets sucked together when pump is running. However, water from tub will not budge.
1 Answer John, With the unit not draining but the pump sounds like it is running then the issue would most likely be that the impeller of the drain pump is faulty. You would need to replace the drain pump on the unit. Read More...
James R. September 10, 2014 for Model Number ghw9150pw4 I get a F02 error code and I washed out the drain hose, cleared the pump strainer and replaced the pump, but I still get a F-02 error code. Is there some way to clear this code?
1 Answer Hello James, As per the tech sheet: If the drain time exceeds eight minutes, the water valves are turned off and “F/02” is flashed. Press PAUSE/CANCEL two times to clear the display. NOTE: After four minutes the “Sud” error will be displayed, then four minutes later the “F/02” error code will be displayed. Possible Causes / Procedure: 1. Check the drain hose and make sure it is not plugged or kinked. 2. Unplug washer or disconnect power. 3. Check the electrical connections at the pump and make sure the pump is running. 4. Check the drain pump filter for foreign objects. 5. Plug in washer or reconnect power. 6. If the above does not correct the problem, go to step 7. 7. Unplug washer or disconnect power. 8. Replace the pump. If this still does not clear the issue, there is a problem with the programming of the EEPROM and the control WP8182695 will have to be replaced. Read More...
Mark September 09, 2014 for Model Number duet front load washer pump 280187 / 461970201671 I have a whirlpool duel washing front load machine around 10 years old. Over the past year the washer water pump has been getting louder. It creates a humming/grinding noise (tough to describe exactly but makes the noise when it pumps out water). I checked the pump and cleaned it out. There was nothing blocking it. It just makes this noise but seems to work fine otherwise. Should I change the pump? what is causing? Thanks
1 Answer Mark, If you checked and cleared the pump and hoses, the problem would be in the pump motor and or the motor bearings. The pump can and will run with the noise, but will eventually need to be replaced. You may want to order it and have it on hand, so you can repair the washer when the pump finally gives up. Attila September 08, 2014 for Model Number 110 45862400 I replaced the pump like maybe 6 months ago. When it is draining, it is taking way to long. I think the drain time exceeds 8 minutes and is showing the F2 code. Is there a timer how long the pump has to work or a water sensor because it seems like the pump is still going on when the water is gone. Please let me know what could be the problem. Thanks.
1 Answer Hello Attila, The drain pump 280187 will continue to run after most of the water is gone to drain out the water from the material that is pulled out by gravity. The pump running after the water appears to be gone is normal for this reason. If it runs until the F2 fault code is displayed, there could be a set of contacts in the pressure switch WPW10514214 stuck, telling the control water is still present. If the pressure switch tests good, the machine control board WP8182687, which interprets the information sent to it by the units' components, could have a corrupted microprocessor program and will have to be replaced to correct the issue.
