For Whirlpool Water Tube Assembly (Part Number: OEM18027981)

Hello Don. Try fishing just the string through the hole in the dispenser. If it does not go, then just fish the water line starting at the dispenser side.

Jim, The tubing that goes from the water valve to the water tank located in the back of the refrigerator compartment then to the dispenser is a 5/16" tube. In some cases the tank is a coil of water line and you may be able to pull a little more out of the cabinet and cut the old spot off and use what is already there without having to splice it.

Michael for Model Number Whirlpool / MDL # GD5RHAXNBOO

The water hose goes through the bottom of freezer door to water dispenser. The hose has a leak at the bottom entrance of freezer door. I watched your video on how to replace the hose. Seems simple enough. Now my problem: I cannot find the part # for the hose replacement. Did live chat and Elizabeth said part # AP3179954. When I enter this # on xcrossing it tells me its not compatable. I would like to get the correct part # before ordering. Another person on the call phone # (Holley) told me this certain unit I would have to buy the whole door. Sounds a little off the wall for a 1/4 plastic line. Can you please help me out? Thank You

Hello Michael, Elizabeth is correct. You will need to order part number 8201537. Please disregard our compatibility tool. It is in work and still is not recognizing all part and/or model numbers.

Hello Elaine. You need to remove the grille from the bottom of the unit and see if there is a bad coupling or if the water line there is bad.

Bobbie for Model Number Whirlpool ED22RF Refrigerator/Freezer

We have a leak in the water line in the BACK of the refrigerator/freezer, not the front. The leak is very close to the bottom, about 12" from where the tube goes into the bolt at the back bottom corner of the freezer side. We have a very long water line and have a lot of extra. Can we just cut the part away that has the hole and reconnect with the fresh end? or do we need to buy a whole new line so it has a special end? We didn't want to cut it and find out we need to order a whole new line anyway. Please advise as soon as possible. HELP! Thanks.

Bobbie, Based on the information, yes, you can cut the water supply line and attach it to the water valve as you plan. Just make sure the end of the tube is cut cleanly and evenly, and clean any burrs off the end to be inserted/attached to the valve. Also make sure you run a gallon or so of water through the water dispenser. this will clear any air in the tubing and flush the water supply system.

Hello Dennis, There is no check valve on the water dispenser short of the water inlet valve. If water drips from the water dispense line there is air in the water system, either from the water supply or in the water filter. There could be a loose fitting allowing air to enter the system but this will normally allow water to leak from the line at that point. Try purging the air from the line by throwing away about two gallons of water dispensed from the dispenser. If this doesn't take care of it, there is air in the water supply to the refrigerator. You can install a check valve 8201815 but since one is not present, it will just be installed and not replaced.
