Dennis B December 12, 2013 for Model Number ksrs27ikbl01 Greetings, Stumped at the first step - disconnecting the water line. My compression fitting is circular and I can't seem to turn it to disconnect it. Is this a different kind of compression fitting? Also, is there a way to turn off the water for the water dispenser, i.e. leave the ice maker going? Looks like I ordered the wrong kit, and would like to have some ice while I wait for the right kit. Thanks!
1 Answer Hello Dennis. No way to disconnect the water to just the dispenser. As for the fitting, press in on it and pull out the water line at the same time. Read More...
Fritz November 05, 2013 for Model Number Kitchen Aid Refrig' KSSS48DB (built in: no W00) part # 2002428 Video for water disp tube: AP3108776 (4388152) Water tube assembly shows newer model installation than my fridge. My fridge has a 90 degree elbow (perhaps a 3/8" ) with a 1" nut to hold elbow to freezer door bottom. It in no way resembles the easy disconnect of the tube from its supply shown in the video. Before I tackle installation of new part, I'd like your best advice to proceed. My built in was purchased circa 1995. My part was purchased: Order Date: 10/27/2013 Order Number: 3782107
1 Answer Fritz, The nut at the bottom of the door just unscrews. If needed you can cut this tube at the bottom of the door in order to remove it from the existing tubing. This is the type of nut that was used prior to the use of quick connects. Removal and installation would be easier if you are able to remove the door. When you remove the existing water line the door can be in place but getting it back through the without the door being off would be difficult to get it through the hinge. Read More...
Mia September 21, 2013 for Model Number Kenmore Elite 10650599000 A workman broke off the nozzle that directs the water from the dispenser downwards rather than straight out as the white tubing that's left is doing. This nozzle was held on by a screw that's still there in the door until the tubing and I want to replace this, but don't need all the tubing that comes with replacement part 4388152. Is it possible to either just get the parts I need, or remove them from the entire tubing fitting? I can't imagine getting the tubing up through the door and the new one down again, but if I can pull the nozzle and "plate" from the new piece and attach to the old tube and door with the screw, I'll be good. Your earlier advice, please and thank you.
1 Answer Mia, The pieces on part WP4388152 are molded together and do not come apart. You would need to replace the tubing in the door which is not a difficult task. The door has a channel that runs through it to make the process easier. You will want to remove the door to do this though. Read More...
Chuck August 20, 2013 for Model Number ed25qfxhw00 You suggested to install a check valve to stop the water dispenser leak (It constantly drips from the tube). The refrigerator parts manual doesn't show a check valve! So, how and where do I install it? Thank you very much for all your help.
1 Answer Chuck, The check valve would be installed at the bottom of the freezer door. When you remove the kickplate, there is the water line. You will want to cut the water line on the 1/4" side and install the check valve with the arrow pointing toward the door. Read More...
Chuck August 19, 2013 for Model Number ED25QFXHW00 The water dispenser tube end has calcium buildup and it constantly drips. Can't stop the dripping. Would replacing the Water Tube Assembly fix that, or is there some shut-off valve in the refrigerator that needs replacing? Thank you.
1 Answer Chuck, To get the dispenser from dripping you will want to install a check valve 8201815. The check valve would be installed at the bottom of the freezer door. When you remove the kickplate, there is the water line. You will want to cut the water line on the 1/4" side and install the check valve with the arrow pointing toward the door. Read More...
C Kinion August 18, 2013 for Model Number ED25QFXHW00 My water dispenser is slowly leaking due to (I think) calcium buildup visible on the tube. Would replacing the Water Tube Assembly be the answer? Or replacing the Water Dispenser Lever? Or is there an on-off valve somewhere in the works? Thank you..
1 Answer C. Kinion, Replacing the water tube will make it so that there is not calcium build up but will not correct the dripping issue. To correct the dripping issue you will want to install a check valve at the bottom of the freezer door. The check valve is part number 8201815. You would remove the kickplate and cut the 1/4" tubing. Install the check valve with the arrow pointing toward the freezer door. Read More...
Brian June 11, 2013 for Model Number kenmore 106.59069990 Hi, my water dispenser stopped working but I do get water coming out of the clear tube on the front of the fridge. Guessing that means the valve in the back works but for some reason the water isn't going through the black tube that goes into the freezer door and into water dispenser? Thx for any help!
1 Answer Hello Brian. If you have water everywhere, but the door, then the line is frozen inside the door and will need to be thawed out. Read More...
Conrad May 15, 2013 Unfortunately, I removed the water tube before seeing this video and thread. My leak was the tube so my question is if I buy another tube how can I get it back down the door if I didn't tie a string to it during removal?
1 Answer Hello Conrad. You will simply start the tube in the hole in the dispenser and push it through the bottom of the door. The string is not required to replace the hose, but makes it a little easier to replace. Read More...
Michael November 16, 2012 for Model Number ed25dqxxn00 On the ice maker module on the front of the ice maker, there two adjustment screws. I need to know witch one slows the cycling of the ice? It cycles too fast and come out only part frozen. Thanks
1 Answer Hello Michael. The freezer is to cold. It needs to be 0°. To cold causes the issue you are having, not a adjustment screw. Read More...
Crista November 02, 2012 for Model Number My refrigerator is a Kitchenaid Model: KSRS25IKSS01 The water nozzle sticking out of the door has disintegrated or broken off. Can I just replace the nozzle part or do I have to replace the whole tubing thing? What part do I need for the repair? Thank you!
1 Answer Hello Crista, The water fitting 8201537 inside the door is one piece from where it attaches at the bottom of the door to the water dispense "nozzle". The complete water line has to be replaced inside the door. Read More...
